Barely back in the saddle (seat) a week and idiots strike

So, I hadn't been back into this big ol universe for months until about a week ago, and I decided to play on PC instead of Xbox One for a change.

I also decided to play mostly in open and was building myself a pretty sweet Asp Explorer to spend a bit of time exploring. No sooner had I grabbed a couple of meta-alloys to boost my FSD when a couple of goons in anacondas decide to repeatedly interdict me. One even reassured me they weren't going to attack me.

They may have been telling the truth because they didn't even manage to scratch me either time but why do other players insist on completely ruining the experience for others? I am flying a completely defenceless (albeit fast and manouverable) ASP X, was carrying no cargo and was purely looking to upgrade my FSD. In simple terms, I am of no interest to anyone in my current state.

As I said, barely a week back and I'll be steering clear of open from now on.. moan, moan, moan.

I went to Wyrd the other day in a defenceless T6 and got chased down by a wing of 2 Cmdrs, one in a gunship and one in a cutter.
The gunship tagged me first but couldn't shoot straight and the Cutter finally managed to get me a bit later but only knocked me down to one ring before I waked. It was awesome. Can't remember their names but o7 chaps! Better luck next time!

Oh and I got a great engine focused roll on my distributor too.

A tale of two Open Cmdrs!

I'm with you. Playing with the possibility of running into other CMDRs is just dull. Even seeing a hollow box on the radar creates a thrill.

Combat logging and blocking people who haven't harassed you is bunk.

Dude plays internet spaceships with guns and gets annoyed that someone attacks him.

Maybe it's my eve online heritage but....

Can't rep again but yes.

I have been playing in OPEN the last three weeks and is almost empty of players. Only a few ones in TUN doing ranking (I guess), and another two in CEOS/SOTHIS, during all this three weeks NO ONE, told me a single word. I was ranking with an ASP X in TUN, and moving stuff from CEOS/SOTHIS with an Annie

Well if you play in open, anything with players can happen, but yes it is rather frustrating when predictable attacks happen that clearly have no reason behind them other then for the 'lol' so to speak, if they had any reason, anything based on the game, heck if they attempted to actually pirate you rather then blow you up, great, but it seems this isn't what interests these people.

Exactly my point. I had had meta-alloys at one point, so they'd presumably tracked me from where I'd picked these up but they'd long been used by the time I was interdicted.

The idiotic comment of 'playing internet spaceships with guns' doesn't stack up because this isn't COD or even EVE. Point being, I didn't have any guns and they'd know this.

I've been interdicted many times and defended myself comfortably from players and NPCs alike but when there's no purpose to it but, as you said, for the 'lols' it's just a sad reminder how many children play this still.

FYI I enjoy playing open because a lot of players are decent and it's always nice to have a bit of civil interaction with other players.

how're they suppose to know you have nothing without scanning you?

This....

Maybe they were looking for cargo.
Maybe they were checking for a bounty.
Maybe they wanted to see if you were carrying illicit cargo.

Tell me again how your experience was 'completely ruined'...

Blocking is the way to go here. Unless they were following you from system to system, in which case you'd do better to report them for harassment via the in-game form.
