Barnyard Animal pack

IMO, since petting zoos are in pretty much every zoo out there, a barnyard/farm animal pack would be appreciated by the fans

I know Frontier is located in England so maybe for some of these slots, rare heritage breeds could be showcased

Cow (If just 1, I'd do the Holstein Friesian cattle)
Chicken
Pig
Sheep
Goat
Donkey
Horse (Probably a Shetland pony)
Duck
Turkey

Doing some more off-the-wall picks that I have seen in some form of petting zoo before...
  • Dromedary Camel
  • Domestic Yak
  • Alpaca
  • Reticulated Python
  • Emu
  • Angora Rabbit
  • Wallaby
  • Leopard Gecko

Domestic animals aren’t something I’m actively opposed to but aren’t something I’d want to see until a very substantial number of additional wild species that are higher priority have been added…

I don’t want to see an influx of domestic animals if support ends after this year (which I do expect it will) simply because there’s still way too many important wild animals left to get through. I’m not opposed to them in general, and I think that if support extends into 2023 a petting zoo pack would be fully warranted. I think it’s possible to do while also keeping the choices varied and exotic enough to not be totally off putting to those who seem opposed to the idea. Something like:
  • Ankole cattle
  • Kunekune
  • Nigerian dwarf goat
  • Dromedary
  • Alpaca
  • Mute swan
  • Wild turkey
Maybe swap out the alpaca for some kind of sheep? Not sure which would go over better.

Please no no more domestic animals 🙈 I would never forgive them the lama. It should be Vicuña or Guanaco 🙈
Only turkey would be something I would like to see but there are also great mods for domestic animals for people who likes them.

Petting Zoos are very important for many zoos, so I understand many people feel they are integral to a zoo game. But I agree, if all we have left is 3 more DLCs, then there just isn't enough room for a Petting Zoo DLC. I mean, I guess they could add Petting Zoo mechanics in a free/anniversary update, but they would also have to add some animals. Right now, we basically just have the Capybara and Llama...maybe Dall Sheep, and some exhibit animals like snakes and spiders. I think if they were planning on doing this they would have made the new Water Buffalo the Domestic variant rather than Wild one.

I think future DLC support is dependent on the energy for these 2022 packs. This Wetlands Pack seems to be the most energy and excitement for a DLC since the Aquatic pack, so they are off to a good start. If we do get DLCs in 2023, I do think Petting Zoo is a very viable option.

Couldn't agree more. I think this would be a crazy pack, maybe add some farming mechanics.
