I'm trying to get all this straight, ive formerly purchased the the commander deluxe edition, which at the time included horizons, my understanding is that horizons is now included in the base game, where it used to be you had to choose if you wanted to install just base elite dangerous, or horizons which was the entire base game plus the DLC, since i have deluxe to i still need to purchase odyssey separately now? i havent been on the game in some years, assuming i buy odyssey now, which do i need to install in the launcher?

Newcomer / Intro Base game vs horizons vs odyssey, different editions

thanks so it will show up in the launcher along with Elite Dangerous and Horizons as an additional install option?
Ok so launching that one also includes the horizons content now from my understanding right?
Actually, at the moment, "in a way". In addition to the specific Odyssey features (the on-foot stuff) that version also has totally different planetary generation and lighting tech. So although when playing Odyssey you can actually have access to all the features of Horizons, it looks different, some planetary locations are greatly displaced and of course you cannot instance with someone who is running Horizons if you are running Odyssey and vice versa.
They are planning to merge the Odyssey planetary generation tech, the lighting changes and all the UI and maps rework into Horizons in the near future (with the console release?) - many of us are dreading the effect on Horizons when that happens. (Performance, UI changes etc.)
And searching for raw materials from a planet has er... Well, in my opinion anyway, taken a turn for the worst.
