Base stations humming noise?

Hi folks,

I noticed yesterday the base stations make a small amount of noise like they are still spinning in circles, even after I shut down the game and HMD. I don't think they are broken because everything works fine in the game (for the most part).

Is there a way to put them to sleep so they don't keep using electricity and so they don't make that noise? I have been unplugging them from the wall because of that noise and also to save on the electric bill.

Thanks for any advice.

PS - Device says "Steam VR Base Station 2.0" on the back.

There should be a setting in SteamVR to put the base stations to sleep when not in use. I have not used it myself.

I heard that the new 2.0 are generating a low hum, I'm glad I still have my old 1.0 version mounted.

Yes I think that's it. It even sounds like it beeps a little in some way. I could not find an option to make them sleep, so I've been unplugging them.

When I get a chance, I'm planning to buy some kind of switchable plug that will allow me to switch them on and off without unplugging. Hopefully such a thing exists.

I found a setting to put the controllers and headset to sleep but not the base stations.

It turns out there is a setting for making base stations sleep, I just didn't find the last time. Now they go to sleep and the light turns blue. Problem solved.
