basic information missing(shield)

HI all,

Since i play this game i can't know how many shield i got exactly.

Can someone explain to me why the game didn't show the numeric value of this??

I have see many thread how determine your shield like this:

Shield Strength (in MJ) = [Ship Shield Rating] * [0.53821 * erf([1.0228] * [Shield Optimal Hull Mass] / [Ship Hull Mass] - 0.66391) - 0.0588 * [Number of Rating Levels Below A] + 0.56377]

It is a joke??

Maybe i am missing something, or maybe because i play a French version?

Please help.

The fastest thing in game, is to buy another ship, store your current ship, then you can see the shield of the stored ship. Out of the game you can use ed shipyard or coriolis (i prefer ed).

Thanks for the tip, so i guess they do not plan to fix that and most people deal with it...

They seem to be somewhat terrified of providing exact numbers. I could imagine because by keeping it vague they can easily tweak the values without anyone immediately noticing. E.g. "Why does my multicannon now do 0.01 points less damage!?!?!?!?!??!"
