Basic Module Status on HUD

Ok, I know, I know, stop posting crap ideas...
Lol
But seriously, here's another idea from the brain of a bored person.

Also, in advance, I know you can check out the detailed module damage on the right side, but hear me out.

What I suggest, which has probably been suggested before is a basic readout of ship modules. I have 2 ideas.
The easy way (for FD), and the hard way.

First, the hard way.
Show module status, in a basic Black/Red/Amber/Green for each module, on your ships schematic hologram!
Black = Dead or Powered Off
Red = Below 25%
Amber = 26% - 75%
Green = 76% - 100%
(Or something along those lines)
Flashing indicates taking damage.

It would be quite hard to fit all the modules and hardpoints on the schematic though. But would help assess the basic state of your ship in combat without having to look away.

The easier way is almost the same, except it just shows "pips" somewhere on the main HUD. (Top center?)
Each Pip represents a module, and are grouped together by the kind of module they are.
So Main Modules shown in the center (of wherever they end up on screen) are
Power Plant, Engines, Sensors, Life support, FSD.
Weapons are just that, shown to one side (or above), A Pip for each weapon.
Then utility slots are shown to the right (or below), and finally everything else to the far right, ( or very bottom.).
And follow the same colour system as the hard way.
That way, you'll learn to recognise what Pip means what, and you can defend yourself accordingly, and judge if you need to get the hell out before your FSD dies or whatever.
And would hardly use any screen space at all.

Using color to indicate health/ general status is an idea that has been around a long time and I support OP suggestion.

I think we may see this when we get multi-crew and FD have to expand the basic pilot duties to make them more fun and engaging for crew.

This idea could even be implemented on the current right-side panel and power management pips and bars without altering the current number of objects on the HUD.

I think we need a "lights on" hud indicator and an optional clock as well...

I think this idea has merit, though my idea of implementation would be to have yout top 3 most damaged systems showing in the HUD with a % of damge. That way you can determine what your enemy is targetting so you can make tactical decisions and effective evasive manouvers.
