Battle Cruisers (under the control of players)

Good afternoon, dear developers!

I wanted to thank you for your work in the development, promotion and support of the Elite Dangerous game. I really appreciate your great work, which we all see who buys each supplement. The scale of the game, its interesting events, beautiful landscapes - all this makes us come back to this game again and again. Especially it relaxes after a hard day's work…

However, as with any such large-scale product, this game has drawbacks. Now I'm not talking about technical problems, this is not the purpose of my appeal, so I really ask you to consider it.

The game Elite Dangerous sorely lacks variety. In fact, every event or mission is reduced to the same mechanics that have to be performed from time to time. Over time, this forces you to leave the game already. Thus, in such a beautiful and large-scale game after a while there is simply nothing to do.

Dear developers, as part of this appeal, I offer you one of the mechanics that, in my opinion, would bring a significant variety to the same space battles. This mechanics could solve the above problem by adding the need to use tactics and thoughtfulness to these battles (and now everything is limited to the presence of a well-engineered Anaconda).

I suggest that you put under the control of the player the battle cruisers of the Farragut and Majestic type (especially the Farragut, an amazingly beautiful ship).

This will not introduce any imbalance into the game if you make the introduction of it into battle thoughtful. The basics of controlling a combat cruiser are already there – they are laid down in the management of fleet carriers. For example, the introduction of a battle cruiser into battle can be divided into two stages:

1) jump into a system where there is a necessary conflict zone;

2) after the start of the battle, when someone from the team or squadron started fighting in the conflict zone, jump into this conflict zone. In order to be able to make this jump, someone from the team or squadron must send a request to the battle cruiser (call it).

The battle itself using such a cruiser can also be made very interesting and not disturbing the balance. For example, the movement of a cruiser in the conflict zone is not allowed, the owner of the cruiser can control only guns during the battle, namely, indicate the targets for which direct fire is carried out or at any (as in the case of turrets). At the same time, opponents can damage the cruiser's guns, disable it, as a result of which the owner of the cruiser will then have to repair it not just by flying into a specialized system, but also using specialized resources that will have to be extracted. This will require the owner of such a cruiser to be thoughtful at the beginning of any battle, to prepare for it, because other players will also be able to summon such a machine, which will be put in exactly the same conditions and which will not simultaneously be a decisive factor in this battle.

But it will definitely bring to the game what it lacks now - preparation, teamwork and tactics. And most importantly, it will allow you to make a variety.

I really ask you to consider this appeal and allow the players of your game to control the battle cruisers of the Farragut and Majestic type and bring them into battle (especially Farragut).
