BB missions for bigger haulers....

Finally I got my shiny T7 :) and I decided to take some missions from BB. I was surprised when I saw rewards around 3k for hauler mission :/ I know T7 can make money easy on trading but I wanted to do missions as well.
Why missions aren't scaled up to player ship? I have cargo 228 and I see missions only for haulers up to 10 cargo.
Missions are useless.....shame :(

When you order a pizza... What would be our reaction if you are delivered 100 pizzas just because there were room in the car?

That's the same idea: someone needs 3 tons of coffee. He doesn't need 300, just 3. The fact that you are using a T7 or a sidewinder is not his problem.

On the other hand, having a T7 enables you to accept the few missions where plenty of tons are required. And delivering 3 tons of coffee enables you to deliver also plenty of other things the neighbors may need.

Typically, I'm working on my alliance reputation. I have selected 4 Alliance-affiliated stations not far one from the other, in which I can find almost all the commodities all together. It enables me to accept ALL the "We need X tons of Y" missions, I know that I'll find some Y in one of the 4 stations part of my cycle. So, I repeat the cycle again and again. And since my cargo is never full only with these missions, I purchase every time the best-profit commodity I can deliver in the next station of my cycle to fill my cargo. It works perfectly with my T6 - with a T7, I'll be able to purchase much more "fill cargo" commodities, while still being able to complete all "need Y" missions. As a trader, you don't need missions to earn money. In fact, you'll earn more money doing pure trade than doing missions!

He wants there to be large hauling missions. There should be large hauling missions. There used to be, too.

Have always wondered why ED doesn't have haulage companies you can work for, let's face it, Euro truck has turned out to be insanely popular. It's all well that we can trade for ourselves, but we can never expand the fleet and become part of something bigger. You could work your way up with large and small freighter outfits, unlock various types of missions on the way & have decals for various freight operators.

Cool story bro but you're missing the point. He wants to graduate from pizza boy to the guy who delivers the semi truck loads full of pizza ingredients to all the franchises in his area. Instead he's relegated to being pizza delivery boy indefinitely.

Well I think a good start is to design these mission so that it is very clear for who you deliver the goods, and what purpose. A run of supplies to a far-away station, maybe? A shipment of specialized components that had to be individually manufactured at a special site? Bulk Ore shipment that they had to find a replacement ship for? Right now it's just X amount of good Y to place Z, and some random flavor text.

I don't think regular ''space-trucking'' will be implemented, since, for it to make sense, we would be paid so abysmally little that noone would want to do it. I do think that it should e possile to become an independent contractor for a freight company, and help with things such as parcels and special deliveries.

Looks like missions from BB are worthy only at the beginning of the career. It's really hard to find somethig profitable and interesting. Maybe someday....

Sometimes it is handy even when in a T9 or Conda, if I'm hauling freight to a system, I'll quickly check the board to see if any cargo missions are going the same way, it helps increase rep faster

The missions offered on Galnet are for people really in the urge of these products. Otherwise, they would never buy these commodities TWICE the average price... In parallel, they have "normal" transport companies they are using for day-to-day trading: we are there ONLY for the cases where they don't have the choice but need the commodities in less than 10 hours. Large hauler business is something different, where revenues are much lower. I prefer trading 3 tons of coffee and win 600 credits on that trade than trading 600 tons of coffee and win 1200 credit on it...

Agree. They could quite easily include missions where larger cargo capacity is required. Ship parts, station parts, military equipment, food mercy missions, trading companies ad-hoc 'driver' required etc. etc.
