Be careful with courier missions

I know in this forum cmdrs like to pass on their achievements and knowledge gained from bitter experience.

Well I want to pass on knowledge I gained from my mistake.

Sometimes I enjoy hanging around the compromised navigation beacon at LTT 4487 to collect bounties and test new weapons and other modules in combat.

I go to Viktorenko Holdings to collect bounty vouchers from the interstellar factor there.

So I thought that maybe, if I had a good rep with the starport minor factions I might get the occasional juicy assassin job, or some other.

Now, it's a long time since I did courier missions to grind inital rep. But it always worked ok for me before. And they were always literally one jump away from the mission giver.

So when I see all these courier missions come up with no less than 3 minor factions, without reading the full details I snap them up. 6 in total.

It's only when I open the Galaxy Map from the mission tab that I realise that something is very wrong. I can't see the mission location tags.

That's because, my friend they are in Colonia.... .Yes. Colonia!!! 22,000 ly away.

And the best reward of any was only 1.2m Cr and rep++++++

I certainly wasn't going all the way to Colonia for a courier job.

I had to cancel all the missions and instead of improving my rep at the starport totally wrecked it.

So beware cmdrs. Always read all the mission details before you accept and don't assume courier missions are easy anymore.

I always read the mission description and check the map to see how far and how many jumps i have to make.
I almost ran out of fuel in my starter ship trying to go to far it was 6 jumps but i got to the 4th one and was super low on fuel so i had to hunt around for a refiling spot (Before i discovered the fuel scoop) ended up jumping all over the place about 9 jumps to get to my final destination.

Yes Paul. I know what you mean. When I first discovered the neutron super highway I got a little carried away with myself.
Because although the cone does supercharge your FSD it does not refuel your ship.
So if you are using an external web page instead of the in-game router, (more than 20,000 ly route) then there is no indication of the fuel star.
I got very close to having to call out the fuel rats.

You need to get a fuel scoop just do a flyby of the sun type planets to suck up hydrogen.

Any courier missions with over a 200K reward should trigger that alarm going off in your head. Either 20K ly trip or ls distance from star.
