3.0 drops, and I'm ready to complete my G5 engineering on my few ships.
Upgraded a couple of FSDs and was all smiles. Upgraded a PD. Still smiling. Upgraded the beam lasers on my 'vette, and OMG.
This is gonna be fun.
Stopped by to do the conversion of my G5 resistance augmented shields. I 'assumed' that I would see similar before/after results. That was stupid of me...
I never thought I might have a roll that cannot be duplicated by the new system, because I have never done a large number of rolls on any module. Went in with shields at just under 3800 Mj, and after rolling up the new module, came out with 3100 and change. WTH...
And now I cannot get my old module back. I cannot uninstall 3.0 and go back to the old system, so basically I'm screwed. Wonderful game this. I almost rage-quit last night, but decided to sleep on it and decide later. I have a new game coming out in a few weeks, so maybe I'll just kick this one into the corner for a while and see if I even bother to fire it back up.
So just a word of caution, the new system will not always give you a better module than what you had. YMMV...
