Ya know its kinda funny, my trip to Beagle Point was also initially filled with disappointment, however, not for the same reasons as you. Firstly, let me say that I actually had a good time in the system itself. There are some nice planets out there, and if you are interested in 'what' to do out there, you need only look at the weeks of activities of Distant Worlds. During the SHEPARD Mission out at Beagle we also did some fighter pvp [not possible in your Asp], re-ran the rally race from DW, as well as other events. I had a good time at Beagle, but as EtherealCereal mentioned, Ishum's Reach for me is a much more exciting system. While not as difficult to get to anymore, the system is fantastic, especially the last furthest moon, Salome's Reach, which has remarkable deep canyons, coloraton, etc. My disappointment with Beagle was not the system itself, but actually the region. I was bummed because of how many of the systems out there had already been tagged. That's my fault..... In hindsight I realize perhaps you don't travel to a well-known historical and tourist destination with a naive expectation that new systems are out there to be explored!!! That being said, I did find two systems more than 65,300ly away that are now first discovered by me... so that's an accomplishment.
Which leads me to my final point. The longer it has been since I was at Beagle, and the closer I am getting to the bubble, the more I miss Beagle and the absolute distance. Maybe it is nostalgia, but as every day passes, the more my yearning to return to Beagle grows.... give it some time. Hopefully you will eventually feel the same way.
