Beagle Point - For The Mug

My mission is complete, now I just need to get back home! I have successfully landed on a planet in Beagle Point with 1 ton of Hutton Orbital Mugs. I left them on top of a mountain, in the center of a crater on CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 3. My only regret is that I didn't bring a ton of Lavian Brandy with me as well.

I left Pallaeni at 3:01 16 JAN 3302, and arrived at Ceeckia ZQ-L C24-0 at 23:49 3 FEB 3302. I hit all the waypoints I could, leaving out only The Rose and The Furnace due to lack of info on the exact locations. I'm sorry for rushing ahead, I really wanted to visit Beagle Point but wasn't prepared to take 3 months to get there. I did see some amazing things!

Thanks to everyone who put in so much work (and who still are!) setting up this expedition! And fly safe to all!

Yes, your mission.
Pardon my french, but i just cant see that as being part of Distant Worlds in any way.
Good for you for making it there but just dont wave the DW flag..

Now if youll excuse me, i have a Distant Worlds expedition to continue.

Congratulations!

I'm taking my sweet time with mine personally, and will arrive with the fleet as planned.

Not defending him, but what about me ?

Currently at WP5 soon to go to WP6, and then next week off for a 2 month contract, then back and I will be hitting all the WPs after all you DW fellas have been and gone.
Am I not allowed to wave the DW flag ?
ty :)

Each to their own, I say. Group meets are a nice thing for those that can, but there is Real Life™, and also Attention Span™ that interferes for some folk.

Whatever, all good in my book. May have to do a meet up on my way back Dognosh. Just coz.

Z...

I think theres a bit difference between your case and op's case, dont you..? ;)
I might have been a bit harsh towards Dark Paladin, so apologies for him for that as its no excuse that i had a sh.. bad morning. Of course its a big achievement to get to the Beagle Point, im not denying that. :)
But, what caught my eye was, as he stated "wasnt prepared to travel 3 months to get there" and without better knowledge his race of 3 weeks to get there wasnt caused by irl issues.
Im no judge or jury in any way, but my personal opinion is, that to qualify as a part of DW fleet, you really should be a part of the fleet, even for just few waypoints and base camps, instead racing there 3 weeks alone from the start...

Just my 2c.

He's got there faster, but Distant Worlds inspired him to do it at all, so he's as much a part of Distant Worlds as any of us.

Congratulations DarkPaladin :)

While waiting for the gathering/departure from Waypoint 5, I pootled around a bit, and came across a crashed ship.
I picked up a ton of narcotics and an occupied escape pod and brought them to the party.
I went out in my SRV and enjoyed some hijinks with other CMDR's, then dropped my cargo, but before I could say "Welcome to Commander Pod's wake! I brought the drugs! Who brought the booze?" people started leaving!
I had to race back to my ship and take off to not miss the exodus.
Poor Commander Pod. Nobody missed him. :(

We need a sliding scale.

From Just Around the Corner Worlds to Distant Worlds. The denomination is determined by your proximity to Erimus.

So ... everyone .... GROUPHUG ERIMUS!!!!

By the way .... "bad morning'. Are there other kinds?

You and me both, man!

I spent the first month of DW ahead of the fleet scouting waypoints, and now work has made it so that I've just barely left WP 5. I saw a brief sensor trace of another DW pilot once, but I have yet to run into anyone in space or on a planet.

Nice one OP! this expedition has always been about going at it at your own pace.....be it super fast or super slow. Though some pilots seem to diss those that want to do the journey quicker.

Can't fault you from not keeping pace with the fleet...Im usually 1 or 2 days ahead of the main fleet myself.

I doubt that I'll meet up at the WP location & time.....Reason is mainly, when I attempted to hit WP4 at the designated time, the game continually landed me 1-2km ABOVE the ground.
Eventually I gave it up as a bad job, blaming the incidents on the game not coping with the number of players landing in the same area at the same time....I have never seen this happen before or since.....so I moved on, didn't want the game to crash & possibly lose my ship.

I'm part of the DW trek team....because I'm doing the journey to Beagle Point within this time period.

Ok, point taken. Its good to have different point of views as one can be quite narrow and not necessarily seeing things objectively. :)

If you are or intend to be part of the DW fleet then you are in DW. If neither of these apply then obviously you aren't part of it.

CMDRs making it to BP without being part of the fleet should be happy with just having made that achievement. I for one can't understand why they would want to claim to have been in DW if they never had the slightest intention of being part of the fleet.

But it's the journey that's DW...not all players being in the same systems at the same time all through the journey!

What restraint do you put on players that aren't counted as being in the DW fleet.....1 system, 10 systems, 100 systems, 1 WP, 2 WPs, 3 WPs........

Just my 2c.

Little bit hard to be part of the DW exep when it is closed.
I have tried and got "sorry now closed no more Cmdrs required"
Also I thought well I can follow them, but it is in a closed private group.
My question is...Does it really happen if your in a private group?
Does a tree fall in the forrest if no-one is around to see it?.
For me personally if your not in open play (with all the risks that has) then you didn't really do it.
Just my opinon,
Cheers
