Beam laser power draw

Since the update I just went out to kill some bad guys in my Eagle and my beams sucked my power dry/ over heated I think, is this a bug or just something that was balanced out with the update? I have a B2 power plant would something in the A's be better if this is not a bug?

Beams have always been power hungry (Power Distributor). If they overheated you are probably burning them too long. More pips in WEPS will also cool them faster.

Note: I use 2 beams on my Eagle and have noticed little difference to how I use them. You just have to manage power and heat and fly in a way that supports that management.

i switched my 5x pulse 3+2s for class 2 multicannons and a plasma accelerator after 1.1. not overheated once.
