Goal of this thread is to mainly focus on bringing ideas to improve the QOL of flying in space, none of these will truely be game breaking like changing the NPC economy/improving pirate spawn/increasing mission payouts ect.
Rather, UI changes, reasonable improvements to player interaction, ect.
UI
-Allow for in game adjustments to the HUD's color scheme, seriously, long overdue.
-Allow a 'manual targeting' toggle for gimbled weapons, its rather annoying to have to untarget and retarget to get hits on anything that chaff spams
-A full on terminal for our various HUD elements, having to load between the various articles UI, such as Star Map, Galnet, ect, gets rather tedious, especially when those instances of use reset often, as well, would enable more useful UI elements to be added, such as a proper mail, mission, and contacts log, and would serve better to help us manage ourselves, so combining all these elements into one UI would drastically reduce the tedium of using them.
-Mission Objective HUD, annoying to have to turn your head when we have nice little spaces on our UI where something like this could go.
-Detailed information toggle, simple put, hold down a button, your current locked object shows more information on its targeting HUD, either finer details on a ship's condition/equipment, or current destination's details, like star class, planet type, or station economic type/owner, ect.
-A real social tab, saved server side preferably.
Player Interaction
-Please allow us to trade credits, this basic feature seems long overdue, we can already help newbros bypass the initial grind by giving them a bunch of trade goods, just let us give people credits directly, having a proper player economy would also allow for the ease of pooling resources, such as having a player faction wallet, make any credit transaction 'taxed' so that players can't abuse this system long term, really though, just get in an anaconda or cutter, haul a bunch of imperial slaves to an outpost where they sell like crazy, go to dead space and give your newbro mate a handful of them, let him go sell them, repeat until he can upgrade to bigger cargo hulls, repeat until you've given him all the credit boost you need, it would just be simpler if you could just give your mates the money directly and go do real trading in a convoy that you yourself can bankroll.
-Same with above, allow players to trade resources directly, we can already jettison most materials, with another 'tax' to again, reduce player abuse, this allows for players to trade away unwanted materials, it would also give materials that people currently don't use some merit to take to market and give currently ignored materials a utilized use, no one wants to sit and gather the worst of materials for hours on end for marginal rewards, but if they got a couple of mil in credits lying around, they might be tempted to buy some extra chaff or bullet materials.
-Allow us to package and haul ship equipment at marked up and taxed prices to better allow us to supply our community, I.E. if we want to sell say, a pulse laser to another player in station, we have to go to the location where the pulse laser is sold on the NPC market, buy it at a 'packaged' rate, which allows us to trade it, but makes it cost 20-30% more then the base, disable this feature on founder's world to prevent insane market inflation.
World Building
-Minor Faction long term goals better outlined to people who have reputation with them.
-Better dynamic news feeds on dire supply shortages and economic events to reduce the need for 3rd party tools
Minor Gameplay Changes
-Docking Sub-Routine should be baseline with all ships, making it something that takes up a component slot, when it is not only detrimental to use as it takes longer to dock and makes you a sitting duck to people boosting into the slot does not make it useful to begin with, it would be a nice convenience, but currently it taking up a slot means that you'll never install this thing, ever.
Will add more as they come up during play/updates, and mark out any that get implemented/partially implemented/outright denied by developers directly.
Add any other suggestions if you'd like.
