Been away for a bit... Got some questions about the new Updates.

So I haven't been on ED since a little before wings came out and have some questions regarding a couple things, I've been lurking a lot on the forum but it's kinda confusing between people saying everything's great and others saying it's all ruined.

Bounty Hunting:
So is there any new things pertaining to BH that I need to know about? Any new bugs like NPCs not spawning in certain locations? Glitches bugs or anything? I use to mostly farm in Nav Beacon sites with a medium kitted Viper (gonna try the new Vulture soon) is this still a viable strategy or what's good these days for that?

Mining:
Never done much mining, but with what I'm reading in the new update I'd really like to try it, but no guides have been updated it seems to accompany 1.3 changes. What's the general strategy now on mining, just the quick and short? What ship should I kit out, I'd like some defensive capability (if just enough to run away) and have use of the drones. Fyi I can't afford a python or anything along those lines, have about 10Mil to work with. I can't find any info on whether the new DBack ships are good on mining or not.

Other than that any info on things on general I should know, bugs, issues, New features (besides wings, PP, and CG)? Any one that responds thanks and I appreciate it.

IMO the Vulture is the best ship to bounty hunt.
Now some changes have been made in 1.3.
First, you should equip an interdictor as many bounty missions are in SC.
Missions in stations now give you a lot more money.

Go to a station and look for pirates mission or assassins missions (if you dont want to be wanted look for pirates, prisoners or terrorist victims.). Then jump in the system and do them. Then go to a station in this system to collect bounties as most bounties are local now. Look for the same missions.
After a while, you will have quite a few missions around the same area.

Bounty Hunting/farming is more profitably done in Resource Extraction Sites now, rather than NAVs, though you can still hit NAVs just for some variety.

Also, your username is making me feel... Uncertain.

Sure you can interdict in a Viper but with NPCs often in wings these days be careful about attacking let's say a couple of Eagles and a Vulture, you need to take them down quickly or you'll be toast. Your Viper will probably have a hard time against the Vulture meanwhile the Eagles will be snapping away at your shields.

Yeah I've never had to deal with wings before so that will take some getting used to.

Also still really curious about some help with mining if any miners read this.

I can't speak for differences from the old way as I've only been playing for about a month, but here my take on mining:

Stay away from RES. The bonus metal isn't worth the trouble. Find a pristine metallic or major metallic ring and drop straight into the ring from supercruise.

This puts you basically alone. Sometimes you can get a pirate spawning with you when you jump in, just run away and come back. You don't have to pack any weapons this way.

Make sure you have a refinery with at least 6 bins. Ideally you want 9-10, but with your budget you may not want to sink that much cash in up front.
This is especially important because you can get 3 metals in a roid now.

Drones are controversial. I love them, some folks hate 'em, pretty much everyone agrees that collector drones are worth bringing along, but there is argument about how many is sensible.

Drones take limpets, which you stock as munitions, so that means they take cargo space.

Diamond backs are both not good mining machines. They don't have the module space for bins or crago racks. Use a cobra, asp, or type 6 at your budget. I prefer type 6 because being able to defend yourself isn't that important, and you can get a lot.of cargo space and a big bin refinery for cheap.

Thanks for the info man that's all I needed.
