Been away for far too long, tryingto get myself back uptodate but have come across something that confuses me in the tutorial.

Wrong Cockpit Mode

What is this, and how doI get out of it

The screen says "Press to change" but it doesn't say what to press!

Set some key in bindings to change cockpit mode. Idea is keeping weapons and combat related stuff separated from peacefull stuff like exploration scanners. That can reduce nasty mishaps involving weapons. Kind of like safety catch in real weapons.

You likely should check keybindings anyways, there is a lot of new stuff.

Thanks, but what is cockpit mode? I cannot seem to track it down at all! I know I am probably being dense but....

There are two modes, analysis and combat, names are self evident, weapons and combat stuff works only in combat mode. At analysis moder scanners and such stuff. Some stuff works in both, like heat sinks. Namely modes exist to keep peacefull and combat related stuff apart. So that you don't fire your weapons while you meant to scan that alien lifeform....
Think it like safety catch, when on analysis mode weapons are at safe and will not fire, when on combat mode safety is off and weapons will fire.

Yes but where do I find this, I have looked high and low and just cannot see where this is?
