CQC before CQC is put out to pasture.............

I've never played CQC/Arena. But would give it a shot if it was dropped into the main game perhaps in three locations central to, Federation-Imperial-Alliance space.
I think that would make sense in the Elite world. And many more Cmdrs I'm sure would 'drop in' and play.
With telepresence being a thing surely the empty fighters would fill up quicker !?

FD could take a breather and fix a lot of stuff they released but I doubt it is in the cards.
Shame the attitude that seems to have been stated is "if gamers don't play a feature we drop improvements", when several major headline features are released half-developed.

I have played CQC and it is fun. FD missed 2 huge things, bots/NPC AI, and some server intelligence. The entire super-black-box nature of it is just aggravating when all one wants to do is play and instead just sit there for 20 minutes with nothing happening. What a waste. FD had to know this up-front, which makes it doubly disappointing.

IF they do anything, I think it will be along the lines of what Flimley said. They have hinted they want future gameplay around the CQC assets they have dropped in the game.

CQC had a chance, but at this point I would really rather they focus on the core game and update what is in it. They have limited time, money and devs.

I accept what people are saying about it being a lot of work, and that currently the npcs do not have to worry about objects in space like they would in CQC... however imo that is a bit negative.

i would suggest if the high level (dangerous and above ) npcs in game used the same tactics in the actual game, this could only be a good thing.

so using larger ships as cover, or in an asteroid belt using the big rocks..

and then the new assetts in game use the same stuff as in CQC anyway. so imo imporving npcs for CQC wouldnt just be about CQC, imo it would have a direct improvement in the core game as well.

if ED is primarily a space combat game (this is not my words, but does seem to be the direction the game is going when you look at the majority of updates - the time spent weapon balancing, the main engineer improvements, multicrew etc etc etc... then imo npc AI is kind of a big priority to get as complex as possible imo..... they need to be interesting and challenging, and doing this without just giving them all uber loadouts and making them a crack shot with the fixed weapons is important imo.
