Hi.

My Motherboard specs':

The USB card I am interested in:

All I'm asking today is will that USB card be supported by my Motherboard?

Okay I think it must be compatible as the USB specs' show the same interface as my network card that I just decided to double check.

On the bottom edge, close to the heat sink that has the MSi logo, do those two shrouded ports say USB? If they do, one of these might help instead;

I am using one of these on my Asus Maximus VII Ranger motherboard.

I have just checked, and those two ports are for USB 2.0 headers, so the backplate I linked to should work. As your motherboard already has USB 2.0 capability all you need is the ports.

Page 1-7 and 1-8 cover the ports. Those ports are JUSB1 and JUSB2, while 1-23 explains the ports more clearly.

You also have a USB 3.0 connector on the motherboard, which this would connect to;

NO, I am DEFINITELY NOT talking about the PCI ports. Your motherboard has got sockets on it that will allow flying leads with USB ports to be added onto it (the electronics are already in place). The first backplate I linked to is all you will need to add 4 USB 2.0 ports onto the back of your PC, while (if you wanted them) the second item I linked to (which I also have) will give you two more USB 3.0 ports to a 3 1/2 front plate.

Well like I say I'm going to open up my system when I get back home from holiday. Would do it tonight but I just feel like chilling right now, and I have to get up early tomorrow to begin the holiday.

It's not urgent in any case.

The advantage behind using the JUSB sockets and backplate is that the system already has the required resources (IRQ and addresses) allocated to it. However, if you add a PCI/USB card to the PC it will need to ask Windows for resources to be allocated to it, which might cause other issues.
