Engineers Before I waste another night on Palin!!!! Argh!!!

Man, I can not seem to get this. First I map the 1000LY and go straight up....my bad....now I am back down near my starting point. I cant seem to figure out how to map 1000 LY distances. I put a book mark on Jaques. I see it out there. When I try to scroll to it with my mouse wheel it goes a distance and seems to stop like it hits a wall. What am I missing? How do I get 1000 LY out to map a leg? I have wasted 2 nights on this. I know it is me but I can't seem to figure it out.

Can someone provide me with 5 legs I can map to? Why does my zooming function seem to just stop cold?

ARGHHHH! :)

Just set a waypoint beyond the Jellyfish nebula and fly out there. 5000ly.

You don't have to actually map anything. It's simply the distance from your start point. With a modded Asp or Anaconda, that's less than 200 jumps total (if you plan to return), or under 100 if you want to just go the distance, then suicide to get back.

IIRC the default bindings allow you to pan the map by holding both mouse buttons and moving the mouse. Zoom out a bit, pan along then zoom back in and pick a star, if it's not around 1000ly repeat until it is and plot route.

The galaxy map can be a little tricky. It certainly helps to have a reference.

Here is a possible route, with none of the legs over 750ly:

COL 359 SECTOR PY-F C12-3
SWOIWNS ON-Z B47-4
BLEAE THUA KO-T C3-1
BLEAE THUA AK-I D9-34
NGC 6546 SECTOR IR-W D1-41
SMOJUE UT-I D9-14
BLEIA DRYIAE HW-C D17
BLEIA DRYIAE JF-Y C17-53
TRIFID SECTOR IH-V C2-7

This is based off the list of Earthlikes, so each of these systems will have one. They are roughly in the same direction, but there will be a little bit of zig-zagging. The last one should be far enough out.

Thanks man! It was not knowing how to zoom with the galaxy map using the 2 mouse buttons held down. That was it!!! I am on my way. You saved me another wasted night! :)
