I have looked in the forums but cannot find definitive information on using the API. I am looking for what software/language to use and if there are any code examples or links I could access to start the learning process. I downloaded the journal doc files but need further info. Cheers

That's hard to answer: Which API? What is your goal?
The game provides the journal and some adjacent files, and Frontier has a "Companion" API. Both are underspecified and incomplete. Various third party sites may provide their own API; and "EDDN" is neither a database nor an API.
