Being a pilot in real life, and playing ED

I was cruising along, descending for landing, and I noticed there was another aircraft a couple of miles ahead, and I suddenly had this urge to open coms, and demand he drop his cargo. LOL
If I did I wonder if he would have got the joke?

oh dear. sadly I live too close to midway ohair, so no way you can get away with anything here. so much coms chatter and even out at dupage you get stuck with c class space so its not very plesent if you like open coms. that said, the airspace here is very safe so I do like it as well. really hope I can save up the money for a com licens, been studding up way too much.

I have to admit I was doing Circuits around Biggin hill with an urge to interdict any other solo ppl guy I came across! :) It's like when I used to play Tony hawks pro skater, walking down street and I would grind every curb and handrail in my mind :/

Are you a civil aviation pilot - is the 777 in your handle because you fly the 777 ??

No, I part own a Piper Archer (Split between three of us) That's the biggest I've flown. I work on CAE simulators (A320/330) 777 driver is a joke I have with my Father, he's a 777 Captain, used to be an A330 Captain. we would call him bus driver when he flew the Airbus, he misses flying fast jet's in the RAF, definitely feels like bus driving on these airliners.

well they sure turn like a bus. got lucky once and managed to fly into canada on a old 727-200 with a gravel kit, that was quite a landing. quite miss how agile the older jets where, (early 727 and 737s) also lucky. dont own any aircraft of my own, have to do work for the people who own 172's and such just to get any flight time. usualy about 3 hours per flight hour.

Cool, my old man was a fleet engineer in Tango Tech down at Heathrow T4. He worked on the 'triples' for years.

He used to work on Lightnings in the RAF back in his youth. Stationed out in Zambia.

That's awesome, my old man flew F4's in Germany with the RAF, and Jaguars training the Omani Air force. I was also based in Africa for a few years with British Aerospace.

We were based out in Germany for a while, Gutersloh.

Spent a few years in Saudi Arabia and then when he left the RAF and went contracting it was off to Israel.
