Being stalked 200 KLY away from Sol

I'm out exploring and have had a FLR following me from system to system, he doesn't interdict me, just hangs around in SC, it's always the same NPC, called Viglin, I just tried dropping into his low wake after he crashed into a planet, and he said something about my previous employers and then started attacking, I'm in a conda but it hasn't got any weapons, so I had to run, can't stand up against his lasers and missles..

This is really bugging me, when I'm exploring thousands of light years from civilised space, I want to feel isolated, away from civilisation, not having another pilot following me. Anything I can do here?

Thanks,
Fred

Do you have any missions active? If so cancel them, then next jump when you are refuelling go as close to the corona as you can, full stop and then turn so your rear is to the star. Next time they appear they'll crash into the sun and since the mission has gone hopefully that will be that

In a Conda with shields? Ram. Everything out there is Anarchy so no fines or negative complications.

In an exploration conda with underpowered shields mainly so I don't scrape off the paintwork when landing on planets...not sure ramming is a gret idea :p

Perhaps the Fuel Rats could assist you here. It's not their regular gig but they may have some armed refuellers out in the void.

You aborted a mission. I had the same - he wouldn't go away. Even killing him was useless, he would just reappear next time I entered SC. Eventually disappeared after a week :O

Urgh, so I've just got to wait for this guy to get bored and quit bugging me?

I concur, a few month back I had an FDL following me in every system. I noticed, followed him to see what would happen. Apparently his boss wasn't too pleased with my performance, and he had a contract on me.

I lured him to several empty systems, killed him a few times, and after a while he disappeared. Killing him was useless, but it felt good :D

Anyway, your guy is probably on a timer of X hours/days/weeks since you failed a mission, and will go away forever when the time is up.

Have you quit a powerplay faction recently?
Otherwise it'll be a failed mission or some such bug where they'll chase you seemingly defying the laws of fuel and jump range :p

And I believe you meant 200Ly or 2,000Ly or even 20,000Ly but 20,000,000Ly seems somewhat unbelievable :D Pics or it didn't happen and all...

I had this once back on in my Xbox days.

Was flying to Barnard's Loop, and this FDL would appear in every system.

Only vanished when I returned home.

Followers can also happen if you successfully complete assassination missions. They can stick around until you collect any new mission. Which might be tricky whilst exploring...

Or if you don't have any cargo space to accept 1t of medicines...

Lol, some time ago one wingmate had something like that - a VERY persistent follower, who was asking for meds (instead of offering them). The stalker gave up after a few days
