I had to do it. Having explored in the Asp-X, I wanted a real starship experience. Had an Orca but decided to go whole hog with the Big Mother. Yes. I know the Anaconda is the preferred starship for the deep black, but the Big B is a fine exploration ship. Its fuel range is vast without any extra tanks fitted, and the jump range when properly modded is exceptional. This mutha is built for the long haul, can carry anything in multiples and has a bridge you can be proud to command. Never mind the qaudy paint jobs, a coat of tactical makes it even more impressive. I love driving it. Scooping is a bit delicate, even with the 4A scoop and it does absorb heat quicker than the Asp, but handled right it loads up for 300+ Ly easy on one scoop. Plus, it has room for a holo-deck, labs, and cafe with four star dining and badminton court.
Beluga makes a great explorer. I got back with mine a couple weeks ago from my first trip to the Colonia region with 7 cabins. 6A scoop isn't too expensive and REALLY worth it IMO.

If you want to fit fighters, you have to with a 4A scoop.

But other then for lols, the fighter bay has no use exploring. However the Beluga needs the 6A scoop. Also downsizing the HUGE fuel tank makes a big difference.
