Beluga for cargo and/or mining?

So, I recently bought a T9, with the intention of using it to do a bit of mining but mostly just to crush haulage CGs.
And cos I'm fond of the way it looks.

Having just stumbled across a station selling the Beluga, though, I find myself wondering if it wouldn't be smarter to buy a Beluga (with it's ability to fit luxury cabins) and then use it to ferry passengers around and, when I get bored of that, refit it for mining or for cargo whenever an appropriate CG pops up, assuming that ALL the internal compartments can be configured as cargo racks as well as cabins, of course.

So, is there any reason not to use a Beluga as a general-purpose heavy haulage vessel, as well as a passenger ship?
Are upgrades stupidly expensive for it, does it get through a heap of fuel or is there some other reason why this would be a bad idea?

Cargo space. Since you can only fit a class 6 shield and flying shieldless is not the brightest idea usually, the Beluga can only holy 304t cargo vs the 500t of the T9.

No Beluga at all.

Seriously a fully D-Rated Beluga with a max FSD maxed for cargo transporting is only 25mil cr cheaper than a fully D-Rated Anaconda maxed for cargo - and it falls apart on every sneeze.

Is it more effective? No.
Fun to fly? Definately.
Extremely nimble for such a beast.
Mining is problematic bc of the limited slots, i stay to the T9 for that.
If money isn't a thing, get one and try.
I like it. But i don't go for 'who's best at task x', i choose my ships just by the look&feel.

Fair enough. [up]

I just hadn't seen a Beluga for sale anywhere and, after having a quick look at it's stat's, I wondered if there might be any mileage in the idea.

I set up mine for multirole, passengers and cargo (I'm a BGS runner for our faction). It performs quite well for those missions up to 100ly.
GB Pulse, Rapid Fire L5, and 2 Packhounds. Engineered to the brim. Adding the SLF, i don't fear any NPC interdictions.
No fuel scoop needed inside the bubble. JR about 30ly IIRC.
Of course, an Annie would perform even better, but i just like the ship.
But hey, i also like the Keelback (great for salvage missions), so you see where i'm coming from... ;)
And i absolutely dislike the FDL. I have one, but rarely fly it.

Beluga's on sale (15% off) in: Zindell Gateway, HR 692
