Wow, the stock Beluga heats up quick. Crack and whisk an egg on the dashboard and they will be scrambled before the FSD is fully charged.

I took a 50LY trip from my High Tech "base" to another High Tech system to buy the Beluga tonight and made a mistake by assuming it had the proper upgrades. I guess I somehow went to the only High Tech system in the galaxy that doesn't sell a power plant or FSD over a class 4!! Just my luck. I was then stuck making a 14 trip jump back to my place that had the goods.

OK, I only took 2% dmg to a few things on the way home but still...it gets HOT fast! I just wanted to give a friendly warning to others. Look into the place you buy the Beluga from before you go and see if they have a slightly better power plant and/or FSD.

I think it comes down to many of the module slots being dedicated to either cargo, passengers, or hull reinforcements. I outfitted my Beluga at Shinrarta and experienced the same thing. So unless you want to downgrade to class 4 shields for the sake of a bigger fuel scoop, looks like slow and steady scooping has to win the race.

Same for us PC folks. Beluga heat is a JOKE! Stock straight out of Founders. Engineer upgrades - specifically Grade 5 FSD upgrade make no difference. The silly ship overheats on every jump.

I had the same build in Beta with Dirty drives and never overheated - so it's not the modules as they are the same.

And for the "people" that think that because someone doesn't have screen shots or video there isn't a problem - here is a Twitch highlight of my broadcast last night showing it. I really hope they fix the heat issue - Yes IT's AN ISSUE! - AGAIN - had the exact same loadout in Beta - so IT's NOT THE MODULES.

I'm used to stuff running hot, I've flow big stuff before. A minor pain, that an occasional heat sink takes care of.

Docking this damn thing is annoying, though. It's that giant race car wing they put on it lol. I swear it hangs up on everything.

Yes I suppose it has enough mounts for a few heat sinks.

I don't have a problem with the mail slot in the Beluga since I've flown the Clipper a bit but I'd like to know who's idea it was to add the tall towers in the middle of the High Tech starports. What were they thinking? Put them in the back or something.

I always use this magic tool for ship buying locations..

..cause I can specify LYR for discount, but you can also put in the fsd you want at the same time & filter to just stations that carry both ship & fsd.

I've made a habit out of that ever since I crossed the bubble to buy a ship, where the station not only had no fsd stock, but also couldn't make it to ANY neighbouring systems with upgrades cause the jump range was too high.. It was effectively marooned there. I had to buy a different ship, upgrade that, bring it back and swap the fsd over. Sillysauce :)

sighYea I normally use INARA but the circumstances were not in my favor I guess. It was 0400 and tired, and my 48LY jump ASPX spoiled me into thinking the trip back wouldn't be so back. Basically, I just had a brain fart

Why would you put "people" in quotes?

Nobody's come out denying the heat issues but you managed to slip that self-plug right in.
