Beluga or Anaconda for passengers?

As title says. And I mean for quanitity, not quality. It seems my anaconda is better than the clipper for this, as I've just learned.

So whats better? Beluga or anaconda?

Depends. Beluga is better by default since it can have the luxury cabin. However, the Anaconda can be used for other things too, and gets better range

Personal taste i would say.
Both are good ships.
While the Anaconda can better selfdefend you can carry more passengers with the Beluga.
And if jumprange matters - Anaconda.

Thank you for contacting Romantic Cruises Inc. In order to pursue the booking of your honeymoon trip to the Lagoon Nebula, please tell us which ship you'd prefer to book on:
[ ] A. Greasy oil tanker.
[ ] B. Luxury liner with recreation suites, fwd and aft. swimming pools, massaging parlour, casino and a choice of 14 restaurants.

If you gonna jump far - Conda, else - Beluga. And Beluga has far more agile behavior and most beautiful view from cocpit.

But the gym doesn't work on the Beluga 90% of the time, whereas on the Anaconda you get a workout pushing the stick to turn it in supercruise :p

Disclaimer - I own a Beluga (which is gathering dust) and own an anaconda paint job

You can put more passenger cabins in an Anaconda.

If you like air conditioning, go with an Anaconda. The Beluga runs.....spicy.

However, the Beluga can take luxury passengers while the Annie cannot. For bulk passenger shuffling the Anaconda is where it's at. Plus jump range and shields.

Since I run both... Definitely the Anaconda, hands down.

- it outclasses the Beluga in every single aspect
- offers far more protection
- allows offensive engagement of Hostiles without running high risk of Ejecting Passengers (losing Shields)
- far higher PAX capacity
- doesn't tend to overheat like crazy as the Beluga does (just try charging FSD for a Hyperjump while afterburning in a Beluga, especially when departing a Planet...)

And when it comes to Luxury Cabins... Frankly, out of (checks Stats) 583 Passenger Missions I've flown, not a single one (!) was a Luxury PAX. I hardly ever see those.
Thus, for as long as Luxury Cabins are seemingly useless, the Beluga in my books doesn't hold a single advantage over an Anaconda.

For bulk Passengers, the 1 trip in the Anaconda basically means 2 trips in the Beluga (if you manage to fill the Passenger Cabins of the Conda, that is... Mission System is often way too limited to allow that)

Typical Mission Target when I'm in the Beluga... You really want to risk your PAX ejecting, trying to fight an FdL?

In comparison, in the the Anaconda all you'll ever do is scoop up the remains of such Mission Targets...

This was the answer I was looking for. Thank you.

Anaconda hands down. If you are looking for the highest jump range possible with the largest number of cabins installed. The Beluga just can't compete with the Conda on this issue. You are talking about a good 15-20 Ly higher jump range potential with the Conda than the Beluga.

I own an Anaconda, and have used it for this purpose, but after the Orca was upgraded with a better optimized mass spec and thus improved jump ranges, I have switched over to an Orca for running 2-3 Passenger "Transport" missions at a time. My engineered Orca can do 46Ly with (1) 5E Luxury Cabin and (2) 5C 1st Class cabins installed. 55Ly with no cabins installed.

Very similar to what my Conda can do.

The only benefit to the Beluga is you face much weaker NPC interdictions.

I have Beluga fully engeneered to 4-5 grade. I have 38 ly jump with 5 passenger cabins onboard. Since 2.3 (about month) she helped me to get about 700 mil. honest profit, and trader Elite today. And she is pretty from inside. But Conda is your choice, do not try Beluga. (My Conda is at Sol, I'm at Empire now)

If I had to choose between just the two of them. I would definitely pick the Anaconda.
The Beluga's habit of setting itself on fire every time I spooled up the Frame Shift Drive
just didn't sit well with me.

That said, my personal choice for best passenger ship would have to be the Python.
Mine is set up with 32 business class and 32 economy class seats. Along with 32 tonnes
of cargo. Fully laden She can make seven jumps at 24.44 light years apiece. Almost 570Mj
worth of shields and a boost speed of 456m/s means running away is always an option. And,
if I feel the need to fight. Two class 3 burst lasers with scramble spectrum and three class 2
high capacity seeker missile launchers will most certainly bring the pain.
