Horizons beluga tail fin

What is the purpose of the Beluga tail fin, other than to get stuck in the mail-slot?

Perhaps the ship is also a submarine for later under water exploration ;-)

All aesthetics...to be perfectly honest, our ships need not be more aerodynamic than cinder blocks considering we are not interacting with anything resembling an atmosphere so far. All the wings on the beluga are huge and generally pointless. But it looks cool, so there is that. =)

Rather than the long, skinny wings sticking out as they are now on the front and rear of the Beluga, I'd have preferred to see two "real" wings.

Something like the Concorde jet, stretching the full length of the hull. Starting flush with the hull near the nose, and sweeping out wide at the rear. And have them low on the fuselage, the same level as the current front wings.

Keep the two little tails up on top as-is.

That would prevent those long, high mounted wings from snagging the airlock as easily, but still have the same impressive width, and perhaps an even more elegant form.
