Hello xbox commanders! Just started less than a week ago and I am really enjoying bounty hunting. The only issue is I have no idea what ship I should use. I am currently using a pretty well decked out Adder but I definitly feel the weight of the ship and I have the credits to get something different now so what do you guys rate as the best ship for bounty hunting???

Man, it's really what you find fun to use, But if you want a straight answer I'd say... the Vulture. That might be a bit steep if you've just started hunting, though.
What kind of cash have you got?

If you message me on xbox live I can give you tons of builds, but starting out i'd say go viper mk 3 as it has more mobility than the mk4 and would enable you to disengage from the fight, then probably as stated above the vulture is fantastic, and my favorite and most profitable ship was the fer-de-lance which is like a viper mk3 on steroids.
I have not named any faction based ships as it would take you a while to grind those out for their ships aswell as get the money to purchase them.
Also use a kill warrant scanner in your utility slot, it can potentially double or triple your bounty gain.

Yep, Bongo has nailed it again. Of all the starter ships, the Viper Mk3 is the best bounty hunter. As well as packing a real punch it's an absolute hoot to fly.
I can't vouch for the Fer de Lance but i've had alot of luck with my multi-role Python. It packs a bunch with a lot of options but takes a little while to get used to the size and movement speed. That's if you have a large CR balance though.
When i started out i used a Cobra which was pretty damn good. You just have to pick your battles carefully.
The Imperial Courier is fun if you have the rank for it.

My pick would be either viper mk 3 or cobra for early on bounty hunting. Viper is great fun and super agile, the cobra is good too with the benefit that you can mix in a bit of smuggling or bulletin board missions should the mood take you.

The Vulture is awesome but I do prefer my FAS, it's big and heavy but turns on a dime, packs a real punch and can take a beating.
I tried the Python but meh I'll take the FAS any day.
Just my opinion though.

I started in a vipr mk4 bit more tanky and can hold more fuel if you plan on being a traveling BH. I will buy a vulture if i plan on staying in a system for a while then sell it when i leave.
I also prefer the hardpoints on a viper MK4 since the ones on the bottom of a cobra are spaced out too far to be used as fixed.

I would def. recommend using the cobra as a starter for bounty hunting.
#1 it is a cheap ship
#2 right now it is the fastest ship so if you bite off more then you can chew a few quick boosts and you are out of there!
#3 While not the best ship it can certainly handle its self especially if you play to its strength SPEED!!!!
But when you can afford it def VULTURE!!!!!!!
Basically, depending on your bank account, it goes something like this : Viper Mk3 < Imp Courier < Vulture < Murder Lance
Other ships are viable obviously, multipurpose such as Cobra or Python if you have the cash, Fed Mobile Turrets, etc. but those on that list are purpose built hunters (debatable for the Courier). I'm also tempted to add the Clipper to that list but a combat fitted Clipper costs as much as a Murder Lance and is arguably not better in that regard.
