Newcomer / Intro Best Bulkhead?

Now I have some money and not much else to spend it on to improve my viper, I can upgrade my bulkheads from military spec to either mirrored or reactive surfaces. Given that I'm currently bounty hunting at various resource sites and tracking down rogue generals for the Federation, what's the one to go for? How bad is the susceptibility to variant attacks?

Do you carry on fighting when your Shields are down? If the answer is no, save your money and agility.

Lasers are harder to dodge, so mirrored would be my choice if you forced me to have any if them

Yes, I tend to fight down to around 50% and only go below that if the target is worth it. I'll give it a go, thanks

Please note that Mirrored are weak against kinetic and reactive is weak against thermal.

For general purpose, military grade is the best, though it's quite heavy.

I can't find the thread right now, but I remember the details:

Military grade: 50% iprovement in resilience to both attacks over lightweight alloys
Reactive: 75% improvement in resilience to kinetic, 25% boost to thermic
Reflective: 25% improvement in resistance to kinetics, 75% boost to thermic resistance

Since the 1.2 upgrade, the cost of hull repair has dropped below shield cell replacement costs.
I have been at 57% hull damage and it cost under 3KCr.
Where the shield cells I spent getting me out of 3 wings (8 ships) attacking while I was trying to finish an Anaconda, cost me just under 5KCr.
