Best burner ship & advice ?

My ongoing “personal narrative” (read petty vendetta) seems to be racking up bounties and notoriety rather rapidly at the moment.

So maybe the sensible thing to do is get a disposable “burner ship” rather than have those bounties hanging over my (expensive) corvette?

The “burner ship” should be combat focused, “relatively” inexpensive , and perform capably without engineering. It should be able cope with “hit and fade” tactics rather rather than a protracted slugging match with multiple system security.

I'm leaning towards the Alliance Challenger, but know there will be commanders here with more experience with this aspect.
I love playing about with the coriolis ship builder, but just wonder if I'm missing a trick?

So what is your recommended burner ship?
What is the preferred outfitting?
Does it make any sense to “clean modules” rather than just dispose of them?
How high do you dare to let the bounty get, before you burn the burner ship?

Any advice appreciated.

- as bounties are ship bound, you might consider a ship dedicated to such work instead of a burner. i for exampel have a pve piracy python. it was parked on an anarchy station, but now it sits on my FC. i don't intend to ever sell those bounties. i have a similar DBS for criminal surface missions, and a stealing DBE.

- clipper is great, generally the navy ships are worth to look at, as they are inexpensive for what the can do. i can see a FAS performing great for hit and run, if you need no cargo.

- i sported a frag vulture back in those times when we flipped rare good systems to anarchies to unblock rare goods.

Well it depends on your definition of "inexpensive" but I'd nominate the Federal Gunship.

You're going to have to do some engineering (I think) whatever you choose but if you limit yourself to G3 max then it sounds like a hoot!

No engineering, relatively inexpensive (but that covers a wide range depending on your bank stash) then you mentioned Challenger (very good/capable/underrated ship,I have one but totally engineered) so...FAS/Viper MK IV ? If you set a price range would be easier.Vulture is good also but non engineered...mmmhhh...

I think its cheaper to just clean modules. I do it routinely in addition to paying extra to transfer marked ships. Just a cost of doing business. Credits rain down faster than i can spend them anyhow. Bounties seem to be a few orders of magnitude lower than mission rewards. Just go raze hell and do as you please.

Thank you for your thoughts so far.

FWIW I regard a total cost (ship + out fitting) of less than 100 M Cr as "relatively" inexpensive in this context.

Whilst undoubtedly the pilot is the limiting factor: I need to be able to take out (for example) one NPC system security Anacondas in about two minutes and get away to avoid backup complications. I'm not sure the small ships ( with me piloting) would be able to do this without significant engineering.

I suppose a bit of G1 engineering is trivial but, the cheaper and more un-engineered the better as the intention is to "burn" the ship once bounties get to the +200 MCr "sort" of level - unless cleaning modules is the way to go ?

FAS then.

There is no difference between an anaconda and an eagle BGS inf murder wise. The clipper is fast for G1, and has enough DPS to level weak ships quickly- its all in being a total git and picking on the weak guy. If / when you get into problems the speed is great for distancing yourself from the crime scene (like when you miscalculate and ATR drop by :D )

Thanks for that. I had assumed that was the case but was not confident.

Think I'll might try the clipper first and see how I get along with her. ty. (y)
