Newcomer / Intro Best Cargo Ship?

I'm looking for a good Cargo ship. Right now I'm sitting at 60,000cr so preferably the cheapest and best if thats at all possible. The more I play this game, the more I realize that transporting cargo is pretty much the best way to make money. However I'm missing the 17,000cr and 24,000cr missions because I don't have enough cargo space. I need something that has like around 30 cargo space or something like that. Whats the best one to get?

Youre not going to get the big haulers for the amount of credits you have atm....

But no worries, i recommend you pick up the"white transit van" its the hauler..approx 56k...you get as standard 8 cargo slots as standard but can increase up to 12.
Its a cheap hauler , low insurance, plus you can drop the laser (only one hardpoint slot) and fit a mining laser if you wish, refinery bin..and bingo cheap mining ship as well.

It can make some nice credits for you this early in the game...

Hi Galco,

I've only just bought the 56k Hauler and I'm just not impressed. The way the market is and the pricing not always reflecting correctly, it's VERY slow to make any decent amount of credit with it......12 Cargo slots max (have to give up shield generator for this), is not worth it for a hauler.....

I was about to sell this when I read Caymen's comments above, but turning one into a mining ship might be fun (but you still only have 12 cargo slots)......

I'll probably sell, go back to bounty hunting till I make my first mill then grab a hauler.....

The hauler can easily take more than 12.

Upgrade the two size 4 cargos to two size 8 cargos. That gives 16.
You can sell the discovery scanner and add 2 more cargo instead. That gives 18.

It is also possible to go without shield and add more cargo, but I am not sure that is a good idea.

Upgrade the FSD to compensate for less jump range. More range is good for you.

Yes...I bought the hauler and equipped 18 cargo slots to start...then got massive yips (golfing term any golfer will understand) docking in the big multi-sided stations, to the point I got blasted out of the sky by the local security and lost about 130k of cargo...so went back to 16 cargo slots and bought a docking computer which works great for those stations (just don't ever use them on the 'dock outside' orbitals...it's a laugh out loud experience!!)....and now I'm trading in rares and the cash is rolling in!!!
