best commodity to transfer credits?

So I wanna give my husband a lil boost in the early game as... well... he is in a stock eagle...
Really I wanna bump him up to a cobra mk3 with D rated modules.

Now what commodity could I use to easily give him 2mil?

it will be faster to wing up with him, go to a standard Res zone and follow the police around and only shoot at what they shoot at.

If you use a KWS he'll collect the extra bounties too.

Not only will it be faster, he'll learn too.

Should he equip a kws or should I equip a kws?

Just you will be sufficient, but it might be an opportunity to get him used to scanning stuff he wants to kill first. In other words, when winged up it doesn't matter who does the scan it is applied to all wing members rewards on splosion.

P.S. To answer your original question, Palladium would be good enough. There are some situationally better commodities (I think low temp diamonds and painite are worth more, but cannot be bought, iirc, only mined), but you can buy and/or sell palladium for good money almost anywhere. If you want to mine some rather than buying it, go to LFT 65 (directly below Sol) and farm the inner ring of the fourth planet, it has pristine rings, you'll collect gold, platinum, palladium and painite amongst other rubbish, don't forget to take A RATED prospectors.

I'm just worried about him getting blown to pieces <....>
They should introduce a cheap small ship with lots of armor but not much firepower... like a "heavy condor" or "Heavy Taipan"

If he was in a cobra I'd take him to go bounty hunting with me.

I guess I could just engineer some healing beams and then just keep them constantly firing at him.

Do you have access to a ship that can launch a fighter ?....try 'Multicrew'....he'll earn some credits (depending on the ratio of your combat ranks). Loss of a few SLF's won't set you back any and he can learn situational awarness pip control, gain experience and you can keep an eye on him while he does it.

A FGS would be the cheapest option to do MC with SLF.

I have a corvette.

but see I am nearly elite in combat so the amount he gets is tiny... if I recall correctly...

Lets say you spend an hour in a Haz RES and earn about 2M Cr if your Deadly and he's Harmless he'd get c.a. 200 K that's very approximately 13 T Palladium @15K/T.

This is the best option to achieve your objective while having some fun. If you wing up and 'tag' only targets engaged by 2 or more authority ships, 2m will be earned in less than 2 hrs with little risk of death.

How about trade dividends from trading in a wing?
Both of you could play together. He could pose as your protection fighter - no need to really fight. You would need to haul a lot of high profit commodities.

I think this would be probably faster than transferring cargo 2 or 4 tons at a time while he has to scoop the cargo up.

(And I think it would be much more fun)

Honestly, I'd go with your original idea, load up a big ship with palladium, hang around outside a station and let him keep coming back and forth (have him equip collector limpets AND practice using the cargo scoop at this time) until he can get a Viper with a biweave (I suggest Magnus Gateway as a place to do this, you will get a good price for the palladium as its a high tech station and has 90% of modules) and A rated thrusters (if possible), he'll be able to deal with a few threats of his own and do some bounty hunting until a Cobra is more realistic.

I just specced up a viper on coriolis with 3B PP, 3D thrusters, 3A FSD, 2D Life support, 3A PD, 3D sensors, a 3E cargo rack, 3C biweave shield, a SRV hangar, a disco scanner (basic), a chaff module and a point defence, and all gimballed pulse lasers. It'll run 1.3m

Take him to Obsidian Orbital in Maia and do the Palin mission with him....you could stock up on the Thargoid commodities from the Thargoid Scout crash site and then transfer those to him outside the station - 4 to 23 M Cr per mission.

That's a very good idea for prety easy money in large quantities, but man it's gonna be a lot of jumps in the starting Eagle!!

Multicrew is a good idea as well, have him pilot one of your stronger ships while you help in a fighter. That'll be fun.

If you roughly calculate that your husbald would gain 10.000 cr from 1 t of Paladium, you would need to transfer 200 t of it to give him 2m.
It certainly can be more expensive, but if you do that you want to be in a place that sells Paladium, so the price want be that high. However besides Meta-Alloys Paladium is the most expensive commodity freely available.

Personally, and presuming he starts from the very beginning with 100 cr, I would only give him the first push by a commidity transfer. Until he can equip better stuff or buy a ship with more cargo.
Then or besides, he could do data missions or delivery missions which can produce several ten thousand of cr easily.

And finally, as proposed above, when he has a more or less decent ship (why not a fast Viper to start?) take him to a Res. At HIP 20277's surface stations they offer plenty of pirate massacre missions, that could boost him to multimillionaire within a day ;)

And while in Maia, close to the system there is a double barnacle site. Last time I've been there (about two weeks ago) in search for arsenic I gathered meta-alloys. There are 6 or so large spires that give meta-alloys. Maia buys them for ~77k per piece. My 16t gave me 1.2M. Slightly bigger cargo will secure those 2M. Then you must figure how to transfer all meta-alloys to your man.

I know it may be a daft suggestion, but would it work with rares?

...if it's possible to pick up a load, have him scoop them and then flog em at max price? I'm out of touch and don't even know if it's doable, but just sayin' incase.

:S

Today you can get 14k for a ton of palladium at Ramon Hub in G41-14, 14.5ly from Sol, and you can buy it from Shaver Dock at La Rochelle for 12,500, so I'd say the effort for rares is hardly worth it. Not a bad T9 run actually, 750k for a 20ly drop

Captain can't leave helm of the ship .....can only let the other commander use SLF or be Gunner [sad]

Really?? How crazy is that? I can give a harmless NPC control of my Corvette, but I can't give my an experienced (or inexperienced) CMDR control of my Keelback? Odd.

I'm sure your already aware but it's worth mentioning just in case ...... 'Abandon' the cargo otherwise it's marked as stolen and becomes 'Illicit Cargo' when scooped up by another commander.
