Best Engineer Upgrade for Power Distributor for PVE Combat.

Well as the title says I really enjoy PVE bounty hunting with my buddies and I'm fairly new to the RNGineers so I was wondering which power distributor upgrade is best for PVE combat.

I like the sounds of the charge enhanced one just because it seems like your weapons if modded with the efficient mod might charge faster than they can deplete. I don't know if this is true or not but I also like the sound of it charging systems faster since shields can take a while to come back without SCB's.

I would love to hear everyone's advice on the best upgrade. Keep in mind it's for PVE combat and I'm trying to avoid the need for heat sinks and SCB's.

Thanks again commanders and as always fly safe. o7

Loadout? If thermal/mixed loadout, weapons enhanced, if purely kinetic, you probably can get by with the charge enhanced.

Systems recharge rate has no affect on regenerating shields that aren't broken. Bit different if the shields are broken, but for shields that are still up, won't really matter much.

Currently, I'm using 2 huge and 1 large thermal grade 3 efficient pulse lasers.
Then I have the rest multi-cannons that are not upgraded yet. Those I'm working on as we speak.

Go weapons then. I'm assuming you're probably going to overcharge the multis? Definitely go with weapons enhanced.

Losing some cap and recharge rate on the eng is a bummer, but being able to hold down the trigger longer is worth. Just make sure you put pips in systems so you keep the cap charged. Regenerating shields, even while up, do drain cap. So if you fly with zero pips to systems (if you do you're gonna have a bad time), you might find yourself with shields that aren't regening because the cap is drained.

I went with the weapon focused distributer mod myself. Worked out since some of my weapon upgrades to increase damage output, also increased distributer draw. The weapon upgrades are now soooo much more relevant, and excellent at draining the shields of those pesky Elite NPCs that love their shield cell spamming.

Hands down the charge enhanced is the best distributor mod there is, unless you're using nothing but beam lasers. On my Corvette's grade 4 charge enhanced (exquisite focus crystals where are you?) can fire every weapon, 5 pulse lasers and a corrosive multicannon, with a near non existent drain on the capacitor and is capable of firing all the smalls, mediums, and the large hardpoints with only two pips with a small capacitor recharge. The only weapons that will benefit from a WEP focused are many beams, plasma accelerators and railguns due their massive capacitor drain. Every other weapon type would be able to fire more, if not indefinitely, with a charge enhanced. My ICourier can fire dual pulses and a multi indefinitely with a grade 4 as can my conda with 4 pulse turrets, a large healy beam, a huge corrosive multi and dual small cannons on a grade 5.What I think kills the WEP focused is the lack of a grade 5 modification, why have a 10%(?) recharge rate when you can have a 35%? That could be the difference of 2MW/s on the recharge (depending on your roll and distributor class), or a large beam laser worth of extra energy.

Forgot that you're able to boost more often, which is extremely useful in the smaller ships.

I went with level 5 charge enhanced distributor mod. I find it more than enough for PvE in every situation I've encountered. I don't use SB's or heat sinks at all.

Thank you guys for the very helpful information. Have any of you received the exquisite focus crystal recently? If so do you remember where? I hear those are the biggest pain to get as far as the materials for the charge enhanced.

Thanks once again. o7

I know that lol but what I'm asking if is if anyone has seen any systems in the right state to give those out as rewards any time recently. Thanks though nicko =] o7

I've gotten most of my hard to find mats from doing missions in Sol where I'm allied with all the factions. Exquisite focus crystals would show up every now and then.

The amount of grind for overcharged compared to high capacity is a little much for me. I really honestly hate the way the SRV is currently and don't really enjoy their system of surface prospecting.

I know what you mean,I do not like the SRV side of things so I end up just running hundreds of missions.
