Best fighter to distract swarm

Hi.

I'm still bad with the Remote Flak Cannon and use fighters to distract the swarm. I don't want to make damage with my fighter. The only objective is to survive as long as possible to distract the swarm as long as possible.

Which fighter is the best for this job? The slow Taipan with high armor and shields? The agile GU-97 with low resistence or the F65 condor as the middle way. Or perhaps is one of the new Guardian fighters?

I did a test of both fighters and npc pilot experience level.

Basically I found that the higher experience the better, no surprise there, dangerous or above seemed to be best. The trident worked, but in general the imperial rogue outperformed all of the guardian fighters.

To clarify a bit, I believe most of the issue is that the fighter pilot AI has one mode. No matter if I set defensive or aggressive it would always try to attack the swarm.

Did you ever try other orders like "Follow me" or "Hold position"? It seems that it attacks also the Interceptor and bring it to zick-zack courses.
