Best fun ever

After today's update I happily launched out with a cargo of Slaves (always good for a quick buck or rep gain) to be scanned and fined 213,231 cr.

Right then. Jotting down the fine I made it my mission to make enough profit to cover the cost back.

So missions. Trades. Submitting to interdictions (of which they all seemed to be against bigger harder ships which was very cool, I've noticed they're getting harder the more my status goes up). Discovery scans. Trading and a few USS's.

Suffice to say I managed to crawl back the money and then some.

I've been playing since Alpha Backer (March 2014) and I've never had as much fun as tonight (I've enjoyed every minute up to now don't get me wrong, I'm a software developer and love to see the progression of the game as I do a similar thing).

Just think what the game will entail in 6 months time :)

All this and I've not even hooked up my Oculus yet (and I've had it for months).

If your smuggling Slaves. Expect a fine (somewhere). Boy has it honed my speed docking (but not at the cost of smashing into someone I might add!).

Sounds like a good evening, except for your poor slaves.

I've got a brand new DK2 sitting next to me, waiting for me to finish building my gaming computer. Arrgh, frustration! (too much other stuff to do right now)

I know exactly what you mean.

Oh and generally I'm freeing slaves. So I don't feel *too* guilty.

The game is what you make it, and if every negative is treated as a challenge, a content creator, you can never get bored!

Oh, and fix that Oculus! I've not got one but played with a friends on Elite over New Year. Breathtaking. Cannot WAIT for it to be released - but can't justify getting the dev kit now.

Clear Skies.

I'll give the Oculus a go this weekend I think. Not tried mining yet either (did a bit in beta but I get the impression it's changed quite a bit).
Seriously need to upgrade though on PC specs. Think that's put me off on the Oculus for now.

I have been playing a long time as well and have yet to have much fun at it, so I don't play too much.

Normally I fly without cargo racks as to deter me from picking up stolen cargo except yesterday.

Flying toward an Orbis station I notice four SAV's circling and got lost in the view, the ship was on course for the slot and nearing the entrance the scan started. Thinking nothing of it I pass through yet the SAV's scan complete message never came through and dismissed it as a bug. Landed, looked at the cargo hold: 2x military plans [stolen][illegal].

To date I have never had a station fire on me on the inside so if a SAV completes a scan with that cargo would have I been annihilated?

They usually just give you a fine if they catch you with contraband. But you take a big hit to your rep. I suppose if you're already unfriendly with a faction the scan could tip you into hostile rep.

During beta 200 tons of tobacco turned an independent station from neutral straight to hostile on me. Not sure if the reputation hit has been tweaked or not.
