Best gaming experience Elite pc xbox ps4

PC: VR, wide selection of HOTAS, potentially much better graphics, occasional beta access, configuration options such as colored HUD and advanced graphics tweaks.

PS4 & Xbox: Honestly it doesn't matter between the two. I have a PS4 so I have the PS4 version. The xbox community has been around longer and so likely has more players. Vs PC, consoles have one thing in their favor: multiple commanders! You don't have to buy a copy of Elite for everyone that might use your PS4 or Xbox, anyone that has a user gets a commander.

PS4 drawback (maybe Xbox also, I don't know) You have to have a Live account. Well that's pretty standard for PS4 games so not a big deal, but it's a consideration.

Honestly, I think milligna is right that VR wins out for the PC. Once you try it, it's easy to get hooked.

I enjoyed E-D on the Xbox from it's GPP release on there...enjoyed it more since I moved back to PC over a year ago. Added to that, Microsoft ripping me off for over priced games, Xbox live subs and limiting what I could do and where I could go online was quite enough for me after nearly 10 years of it...plus babysitting other folks rude little brats online every night did my nut in.

I play PC with HOtas. Tried it with xbox controller but ran out of buttons and could not navigate. Just wondering if there were any noticeable game type and if CQC was more active on consoles since that's why it was created.

The Elite player base is so fragmented even on PC you never really meet anyone and CQC is non existent.

I have to agree although I haven't tried it in VR, but can imagine it's amazing. I'm Xbox and PC. I have plenty of friends to play with on both. The PC side has all the add ons with voice attack and such. The Xbox side made a big leap forward though with the recent hotas one addition. This made the game even more enjoyable.

But, in the end, it's what you enjoy the most, playing with friends or the personal experience of the PC add ons and VR.

The consoles are trying to get there as well, it's still down the road.

Good luck commander. o7

In terms of flexibility, it has to be the PC CMDRs who get the most from the game - they have far more (and superior) controller configurations, and all kids of 3rd party programs to enhance the experience.

PC has the best pros, but also the most crucial cons.
+ VR, performance, image quality, HOTAS and overall most control method choices, platform versatility allows use of 3rd party software
- $Price$ to take advantage of most of these :)
