Best Headset for EDTracker?

Hello everyone!

I've just recieved my EDTracker 2 (Thanks to the guys that assembled it). What good quality USB headset with microphone would the community recommend?

Also, how have other people attacked their trackers to their headsets?

I'd be very interested in hearing what people are using. :)

I'm still using a breadboarded setup and attached it to the headset with tape around the centre of the bread board with the chips and button at either end. Works great.

I'd suggest you need a headset that isn't really light like those cheapo ones that are meant for just voip. Anything with cupped ears would probably be best.:) Although if you are using a tracker thats soldered onto the mainboard it would probably be a lot lighter than mine.

I quite like Logitech for headsets because they are really robust, although the Razer Tiamat might be more comfortable. Plantronics do decent headsets but they are suseptible to breaking so I have heard but are a bit cheaper.. So perhaps something like this?:

Inspired by another commander (the-monk), I modified a tic tac box to give the tracker a little more protection. Then used Velcro ties to attach it to my headphones. The loop in the wire is just to take any strain off the USB socket.

One thing I noticed about using a light headset like this with a similar setup is that its top heavy and can slip off your head.

I like the tictac box. Awesome!

Yeah, it's not the best quality headset but I haven't had it slip off yet. Maybe when a combat situation gets a bit frantic. :)

Birthday coming up...headset from above links...hmmm...where's my wish list?

Can i buy an edtracker somewhere?

Talk to these guys.

As I mentioned at LaveCon, I play using speakers. This afternoon I will be biting the bullet and buying an Alice Band from any local teeny clothes shop that will sell me one. Anyone have any Elite Dangerous sticker decals so my Alice Band can be more cool and less tragic?

Oh I've heard that one before and a big ED belt for the Rah-Rah skirt too.

I have a set of Turtle Beach X12 headphones, the strap on the top is easily wide enough for the EDTracker in the little box I set it in plus the whole headset feels sturdy on your head.

I've posted a pic on a different thread that I too prefer to use speakers so have gone for the baseball cap option.

Pro: Ears are free, don't get over hot and I can hear the family complaining about the amount of time I'm on the one PC (which I need to correct)
Cons: If you look down the peak gets in the way

In general it works reasonably well.

Pictures after you've got the EDtracker attached please.

I don't use a headset because the house is too busy and I like to chat with the wife while playing. I use the headband from the original xboxlive headset but without the mic and speaker attached. Attached with velcro strap.

It's thin, light and comfortable.
