Newcomer / Intro Best HOTAS & Stick?

So bought a T.Flight Hotas X a few weeks ago, and really enjoyed flight in ED

... but now the yaw is slowly ever drifting to the right, and I don't know a way to stop it - tried the in-game settings, but no joy there. Don't really want to take the stick apart, as my track record for stuff like that ain't good.

So, its a cheap setup - I get it.

Price ain't exactly NO object, but I can afford better. So for you cats who've been playing this a spell with HOTAS and stick, what are your recommendations? Not interested in foot pedals.

Thanks. I'll take a look at that.

For pricing considerations, I'd like to keep the set at or below $700.

Mine "healed " itself just befor I was going to send it back and as we dont have a choice on PS4 I bought a second one as a reserve but the origional has done more than 6 months and 1000hours

Thrustmaster warrent their products for 24 months in Europe , 12 months else where and it would be great if they were forced to honour that and perhaps solve the problem or stop making it

The Warthog is fine if you don't want yaw on the stick.

I used to use the T16000M Hotas setup, but got fed up of the twist / yaw failing (an issue with Thrustmaster sticks) so went similar to Morbad's suggestion, but went with the VKB Gunfighter and still use the throttle from the Thrustmaster set which is great, tons of hats and an analogue stick which I use for thrusters and which can be purchased separately.

The Gunfighter is more expensive than the Gladiator, but VKB stuff is very good quality and I'm sure the Gladiator is great. Highly recommended.

While there are issues with the yaw pot on the T16000M, I'm of the (unfashionable) opinion that you don't really own somethining unless you're prepared to make it yours. The twist yaw can be fixed, rather easily if you're careful, by disassembling the stick and making sure the pot's contacts are clear - either wires touch or the solder tends to grow little dendricles (for want of a better term) that cause shorts. A bigger blob of glue would fix it permanently and before any issues could develop, but it is what it is.

Naturally, I'll buy a higher-spec stick when I have the money and the inclination.Until then, I'll repair my HOTASes. My T16000Ms are all still going strong, years after I bought them, because I'm not shy of a bit of maintenance.

Bought a new home recently, so the wife asked me to lay low on purchasing new toys just yet. Did adjust dead zone in-game to minimize the issue with the T.Flight Hotas, so it'll keep for now. I'm down to one of these two:

... and perhaps a Thrustmaster HOTAS, like this:

May have to ask my wife to make it my birthday and Christmas gift. :D
