Best Jumping ship

hi guys i'm a noob(1 week) to the game but have been playing games in this genre for over 20 years. My question is this:
I want to eventually get to Eranin to fight in the war however I realize its actually impossible to get there in my starter sidewinder ship. It simply can't make certain jumps that are needed to get to where I want to go. Do I need a better ship that can jump farther? Or is there an upgrade I can make to the sidewinder to make it jump 10ly or more? If I do need a new ship which ship should I get that will let me jump the farthest? Also does there happen to be any way to travel a long distance without going star to star? Thanks you guys, I appreciate the help. I enjoy this game however it seems that not a lot is explained for noobs within the software and I've been doing a lot of google searching to figure out this game lol.

jump range depends on the strength of your FSD as well as your total weight.

the easiest way to boost your range is to start by dropping useless weight. don't bring cargo, drop weapons and shields if you feel brave enough not to be interdicted. Get D class internals where you can since they weigh the least. When you outfit your ship, always check on the right side to see what difference to your range the item you are adding will bring.

bringing the sidey to 10LY shouldn't be too too hard since it's already got "not the worst range" in the game.

Not sure there is a war in Eranin, I believe that was just the alpha/beta, but I may be wrong, can't say I've been there since. Where are you? There may be a war closer to home.

Also, get a fuel scoop to collect fuel from stars, saves you a lot of time, and money, on long trips :)

I'm pretty sure the Eranin war is long gone and over, I flew through that area recently and saw nothing, and from what i've heard it's over and done with. Current conflict zones iirc are Jera, Durius, and maybe a third one but I can't recall it

class d stuff is lightest and for fsd upgrades check what increases jump range. As for your war plans, I don't think its a good idea to combat with a sidewinder in conflict zones, you need at least a viper that is upgraded. I suggest doing some hauling missions and then getting a eagle do some bounty hunting.

Have you gone to any of the ones other than Durius? I can't find any combat missions for the conflict zones in durius/buricasses, and i'm looking for a slightly faster cashflow from this because i'm getting a good 45k per conflict zone run, and they're a lot of fun

Thank u

U have all helped greatly proud to say after selling my shield generator and guns i was anle to make the long journey to eranin. Sadly there is no conflict zone as inhave just read. And i checked too lol. Heading to durius now. Another long journey. Can anyone tell me if i can find a shield generator and guns to buy near there? None were to be found in the whole eranin system and was hoping that wouldnt be the case in durius as well. Thanks again for all the help ad thanks to u guys today is the first time I can say im truly enjoying this game and i feel some sense of purpose.

Yes i agree. Didn't realize it's impossible to find another shield generator. Upgraded frame shift drive this time around but i had to start from where i was yesterday lol.
