best long distance ship?

With the open galaxy and multiple ship ownership, I'm going to need a vessel capable of crossing long distances quickly to go between "garage" stations in interesting locations.

It will be kitted out with a big hyperdrive, fuel scoop and little else - but what hull?

I'd rather not have to spend a fortune on it, but am thinking long term so anything up to a type 6 considered!

Get Cobra.

Big FSD, preferable A (= a fortune).
Decent Fuel Scoop of maximum size.

When going really long distances, you might consider adding an auto repair unit.

Can anyone also include the maximum jump range for these ships in LY (light years) ?
I know the hauler can jump approx 20+ LY withan A grade Frame Shift Drive.

I use an upgraded hauler, they use next to no fuel a good FSD will get a stripped hauler jumping over 20 ly in 1 hop and can do huge amounts of jumps on less than 100cr of fuel....... add a scoop and it will go for ever........ almost
