Ships Best passenger ship that's NOT a Saud Kruger?

Dang, the Phantom is pretty decent! It's definitely comparable to both the Dolphin and the Python... why isn't anyone else suggesting it? I don't see the downside to it?

EDIT: Sorry for the duplication, I didn't realize you can't delete your posts in this forum until after I posted the following reply-comment :(

The Phantom is an excellent platform, yes - but tbh not the first that would come to my mind when thinking about passenger ships. ^^

Looking at the 1-jump-Phantom, yes it can do the Robigo run in 1 jump, but it only carries 42 pax. The Python carries up to 142 pax (all coach) -- I think mine has 98 pax with a mix of coach and business class. Doing the run in 1 jump instead of 2 does not cut down your total round trip time by >58%. You're not saving any time, you're just keeping yourself busy for longer.

Phantom is great for "sightseeing adventure" missions
Are you saying because those particular missions have multiple stops, and the Phantom helps decrease the jumps it takes?
Sorry for sounding dense... I'm just really wanting to understand why the Phantom is not more suggested -- it seems about perfect as a replacement for the Dolphin. What are the real downsides. (I only do 8 or fewer passengers at a time, to 1 or 2 first class cabins is all I need anyway)

Alright, he's probably thinking about those long range cruises that take you thousands of lightyears away. Both Phantom and Dolphin are good choices for those. Phantom bc it has fantastic jump range so you need fewer jumps, Dolphin bc it runs so cold you can hit Jump in direct vicinity of a star so there's less time between jumps.

TBH the only reason I do Robogo - Sothis passenger missions is for high end mats, so if I can get what I need and get back to something remotely interesting I'll use what ever ship gets it over and done with the quickest.

For me it's not about filling a ship with the best missions it about getting some MEF, EFC ....ETC and moving on, so if the Phantom proves to be more efficient getting the goods I'll use it if not it's back to the old Python! ;)

So, I'm roleplaying a commander that wants to avoid ALL Fed, Empire, and megacorp entanglements -- do everything (missions, ships, etc) through independents etc.
So I'm wanting to trade in my Dolphin for a different ship that I can use as my passenger liner. What would be a good one for that? That comes as close to the benefits the Dolphin has as possible?
(Yeah I know the other manufacturers like Faulcon deLacy and Lakon are also technically megacorps, but in my headcannon, they're a little more indie than Saud Kruger... plus, it's IMO just a more interesting way to play having some constraints.)

1. So what I'd like to have is the highest class cabins possible (I guess just First Class? Luxury is ONLY available on the Saud ships, yes?)
2. Runs as cool as possible (I know nothing beats the Dolphin for that, but something that can come close?)
3. Preferably small, but medium is OK (definitely not large)
4. Ultimately good fit for engineering that will make it as quick and unscannable as possible for transporting wanted passengers

Thanks for any suggestions!
I mean, if you don't care about raw carrying capacity, the Phantom is basically the Dophin's big brother when it comes to a medium pad ship.

Edit: I am so slow compared to everyone else, lol

You could try something like this Phantom: https://s.orbis.zone/elcr
  • Fast: around 570m/s
  • Silent: sub 20 normal space heat so you do not show easily in NPC radars >> great for those criminal masterminds that you chauffeur around. Add heat sinks to that when needed
  • Jumpy: 57 LY jump range
  • Diverse: 1-4 slots for cabins depending on your needs
  • Durable: 700 shields (can be boosted higher), 800 hull, decent resistances
  • User friendly: All the flight assists you could want
  • Annoying: Mines, mines, mines

The Sidewinder, carry a whole 4 economy passenger and will cost you barely anything!

(just kidding of course... or am I?)

Second page... did anyone mentioned Python?

Most spacious medium
it can also pack enough shielding with size 3 Prismatics to avoid any dangers from NPC or gankers alike.
