I'm currently at Lieutenant rank, in a system call Ochosi, after I saw a YouTube video that recommended it. However, it's far slower than when I did my Imp rank grind, where I got 20 missions both ways. With this current system (Allied), it's max 10 missions one way, max 5 missions back. Maybe I was spoiled when I did Imp rank, but is there a place better than this to grind Fed rank?

I don't think there's a Fed equivalent of Ngalinn/Mainani for the Empire. I got mine by stacking cargo delivery and courier missions at Sothis/Ceos.
I've since discovered that you can gain a lot of rep by stacking a dozen Rep+++ evacuation missions from a burning Fed station (though they tend not to offer the Naval rank-up missions though).

How many stations? Ochosi has you stop at one extra station in the other systems.
I'm currently doing the grind at Ochosi, but also hitting a few other stations in there, too. It's not too bad.
You'll pick up missions in HIP 68801, HIP 67882, WOLF 511, Chakpa and a few others, if you want to.

As I said, I also did the Imp grind, which was much easier. What you are saying suggests that yes, I was spoiled by it.
I did mine in & around Tun, dunno if it's still good though, was a while ago.
