Best place to farm wake scans for FSD range mod?

Never really bothered as I'm usually a fast-boot guy.

Is it true that certain system states, population = more wakes to scan? Where?

Go to a famine system and look for a "distribution center" signal. Enter and you will see Type 9s sitting there and small ships constantly waking in and out. By far the best place to farm DWEs in my experience. I haven't had much trouble finding distribution centers, but I have heard that not all famine systems have them so you might have to try a few before you find one.

This is a bit roundabout, but it works...I have a wake scanner fitted to my Orca, and when I go out to earn credits, it's usually doing sightseeing missions. The sightseeing missions send you to all the tourist beacons. When you spawn at a tourist beacon, there are 5 or 6 other passenger ships there, which jump out over the following 2 mins, 90% of the time high wakes. I simply scan a few wakes at every tourist beacon and they slowly build up.

This is what I do and find it very effective. Distribution Centers are only visible in Navigation menu when they are within 1,000ls of your position so if you can't see any when you jump in to a famine system it's probably just because they are around a planet further out. I usually just jump to the next nearest famine system when this happens because that's easier.

THIS!.. I farm the living thargoid out of distribution centers. approx 10 jumps per minute.. as ships come and go. You find the sweet spot just past the distribution center where thay all Jump at and you almost dont have to fly. Just sit and turn towards the wake and scan.

And after a few hours of this you're ready to go and collect some Chemical Manipulators from an Anarchy outbreak convoy beacon... ;)

You might also want to get a long range wake scanner for these Distribution Centers. No need to fly around at all, just point and scan while watching your favourite show.

You barbarian.....

I only use conflict-free, locally-sourced, fully organic, Chem Manipulators which I forage from the various Megaship sites (closest one at the time). Relogging is somewhat immersion breaking but so is the savagery of Spacecow slaughter....

What savagery? It's just containing the outbreak, saving untold millions of lives in the neighbouring systems. ;)

I farmed a bunch in system Toresit, distribution center, yesterday.

Online sires and even the galmap are kind of spotty for finding the famine states ime.
You really have to double check when you you get there, lest you fly around for an hour n a boom state...

Very good Inquisitor Zieman. For while some may question your right to destroy ten billion people, those who understand realise that you have no right to let them live!

For the Emperor!
