Following an encounter with a white dwarf yesterday evening, I have almost exhausted my stock of vanadium - jumponium to escape the system and three AFMU refills to repair the damaged modules.
Unfortunately didn't pack a Detail Surface Scanner before leaving and 14 kylies from the Bubble en route to Beagle Point a bit late to change that. So I can't check landable bodies in advance for likelihood of mats but vanadium is proving very, very elusive to find. Carbon, sulphur, iron and chromium to spare but not what I need.
So just wondered of the various planet types which is most likely to yield jumponium mats?
In some ways the event was quite interesting and almost an example of emergent/dynamic gameplay even running exploration in solo. One minute you're running express - honk, scoop, jump - and finding it a bit boring, next you're fighting for survival. I never realised nose cone boost does not differentiate between neutrons and white dwarves, of which the incident was my first encounter with the latter. Even with the orbital rings switched on and heading for the very tip of the plume I still got cooked. Fortunately the distance for the nose cone boost was within my jumponium boost limit, if not then it would have been seppoku time.
