Best post 1.1 Cobra combat setup

This is my setup:
Set to my trigger (for depleting shields):
2x gimbal bursts under the wings
+ 1 fixed pulse for more power

Set to my 2nd fire button (for module sniping)
1 gimbal canon

Also I have heat sink, chaf and shield cell.

I have almost everything A Modules but I keep my hull reinforced alloy because military is too heavy and will decrease your FSD range and manuverability.

With A thrusters even with military armour you are way under your thruster optimum mass so your manouverability isnt affected.
As far as i understand it anyway

I've got small gimballed (1 x MC + 1 x Beam) and medium fixed (1 x MC + 1 x Beam). The thinking behind this is Beams for shields (on Fire 1) and then bring in the MC's too (Fire 2) once shields are down. The brunt of my firepower is fixed (my aim's not bad and fixed == more damage) but I've gone for gimballed smalls 'cos my aim's not perfect and it's nice to keep landing hits even when I'm slightly off target.

My only concern now is that, because the small Cobra mounts are underneath, and because I'm often in a pitch-up loop behind my target, are those gimballed weapons landing hits or are they obscured by the front of my own ship?

Anyone got any thoughts?

Following suggestions that my lower mounted gimballed weapons were being obscured from the target by my own hull I've swapped things around (medium gimballed on top, small fixed on bottom) and it definitely seems more effective (for my combat style at least). Thanks for the input!

Hahahaha! Makes my first trading run's profit of $700 feel somewhat paltry. Ah noobs, what what you all do without them eh?

Current balance: $2407

Plus enough CR for an insurance claim... tell me you have enough CR for an insurance claim on top of your 2407!
