That's great price but i would never buy second copy for myself.
I believe there should be multiple commanders 'slots' available with an option to purchase additional slots - much better option from my perspective as this would allow me to switch between exploration and other activities without leaving the client to login with another account.

Plus I am not going to buy cosmetics double or triple...

(sorry, couldn't resist).

the discount for the deluxe edition is actually wrong (at least in eur): the cmdr pack is 10eur and not on sale, so it's actually 51% off, not 42%. in other words, you get the paintjobs for free for buying base and horizons at a discount (of 42%). medic!!!!!

Maybe that’s the tme to bring Cmdr Magnus Buttus into the game, a notorious Open only Cmdr that only flies shieldless ships with Raider Kit and only docks at anarchy stations. Hmm...

But then, last time i bought a second account i never revisited the first account. Cmdr Knightshark is still docked at Jaques for a year, while Cmdr Ginzburg-Landau thrives in the bubble.

This is what happened to me. Main Cmdr reaches Jaques last December and does a small amount of exploring the local area.
Then alien things happen and second Cmdr in the bubble takes over.
I'm now starting to get into the mood of leaving the Colonia area and heading either for the bubble or that Sag A place.

Some people commented it is hard to switch accounts (excpet via Steam and FD installed to different areas). Unless I am confused, the need for multiple installations has gone. I switch between the accounts I have (all FD ones), using the same launcher. Each account has to aapply its magic code via email the 1st time you log in with it, but no need to install to mutiple locations or use muitple windows accounts. Seem to remember this chaged somewhere in the 2.x

I believe there is a way to use mutiple installations to launch the game twiche on the same PC to multi-crew with yourself (ohh, er, misees). Never tried that.


The above is my understanding of the current situation, unless you want to run 2 accounts simultaneously no need for mutiple install. Am I missing something?

I have three four accounts (One Steam, two three from Frontier, all installed on separate HD on the same Windows profile. You can install them onto the same HD, just different directories. On my desktop I have three icons, one for each launcher. I can launch any account, without a confirm email everytime, anytime I want.

Settings are shared so any HOTAS control change, for example, is seen on all accounts.

This.

I seriously thought about getting a second account at this price, but the way it's handled (or rather, is NOT handled) it's just too much hassle. Extend the client to allow multiple save slots, and I'd be open to buying additional slots.
