I never claimed it did - though I will say I find things like Decoding the Alien Ruins, or chasing comm beacon signals from system to system or salvaging materials for Palin far more rewarding than blowing up ships. And at the very least, there is both some reward (credits) and some measurable statistics (Combat/Exploration/Trade/Faction rank) to go with this.
And I never said it wasn't legitimate, just pointless.
If such actions had some measure, beyond the bounty issued, or some meaningful impact on actual game play, it would be a different matter entirely.
Well subjective appreciation of the alien/story line stuff aside, which is for all intents and purposes the only aspect of gameplay FD are actively giving a level of engagement to, my point stands that basically any activity in ED is "meaningless".
Pretty sure we were supposed to bring our own meaning to it. And I thought you would have had better things to do than lob incendiaries from the sideline
