Best System/Area - Combat Focused Pilot, some Smuggling/Delivery Runs, Power play ambivalent

Its come to my attention over time that I really do love Elite. I especially love the combat. I do. Trouble is, most ships I fly - Vulture, Courier mostly - dont travel well.

For this reason, I am looking for a "spot" in Elite where I can have a bit of fun with some decent mission variety. I am partial to combat (and to fighting on behalf of underdogs against major factions, such as at Lugh). But I also like to partake of a little smuggling and some delivery runs now and then if the price is right. Heck, I've even been known to add some mining lasers to my Asp Explorer now and then, for variety.

Mostly, though, what I would like is a cluster of systems within reasonable jump distance of one another where a variety of trouble is likely to crop up on a regular basis, and where questionable goods might frequently travel. Basically, if you were Han Solo and I was Malcolm Reynolds, where would you suggests I hang out in Elite (assuming you didnt mind a similar type fellow in your favorite space)?

I will give you dear OP, the location of one of my early favourite haunts. The system's name is Ebor. It is near the edge of humas space, next to LYR's good outfitting systems, namely Diaguandri. The good thing about Ebor is that it has 3 stations close to the sun, and all combat missions point to 1 system: Wolf 1241. That means you can pick up lots of combat missions, and the targets will conveniently be found in Wolf. It was great fun before the combat mission changes, when it was easy to find multiple "kill x pirates" missions, and then travel to Wolf 1241's hazardous RES for a big massacre and a fat paycheck....

Wolf 906 not more than 100 Ls from Sol, station spawns hunting mission to 3 nearby system (2 HzREZ, 1 HiREZ), Hudson Territory, so if you like occasional PvP go ahead
