Best system name ever: behold the Great Annihilator

Hello Commanders!

I just had my best find so far: The Great Annihilator, the biggest black hole found in the game (save for Sagittarius A* OFC). I found it on my way back from the core, at 2921.48 Ly from Sagittarius A* or exactly 23 kLy from Sol.
This bad boy weighs a hefty 198.0977 solar masses with a radius of 0.008 Ro, which makes it 4.7 times heavier than the previous record!
This monster already creates some lensing at about 50 Ls already and has a little brother weighting another 66.0742 solar masses!
Here are a couple images from the beast:

the closest i'll get, 0.15 Ls away:

The little brother from 0.21 Ls
Time to go, "only" 23'000 Ly to go and sell a crap-ton of data!

Wait...

Great Annihilator is a real thing. Am I missing a joke here?

How do you find something that you already know is there?

I think it is due to people not being aware of the Great Annihilator before it was stumbled across ingame. And keep in mind, while it's the second largest black hole found so far ingame, it's only an intermediate massed black hole, there's bigger ones between it's size and Sag A*'s size, just doesn't seem like anyone has run across them...yet.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking clearly. I didn't assume everyone knew what and where Great Annihilator is. I seriously thought I was missing an inside joke or something :D

It's a much more interesting system than Sag A but as they're only a couple of kylies apart why not visit them both.

Yep - have visited both and am now heading back to populated space - 22ly at a jump to cash in my data!

Hah!

I think this will soon become a required stop for folk visiting Sag A.

You have first discovery too? Well done. :)

Two points that may not be obvious:

1. This is a thread necro from a year ago. The Great Annihilator might have been news back then, but it's old news now.

2. The "contact binary" in the second pics is only an artifact of the system map, which isn't used to drawing such large stars in orbit around binary black holes. Not that you can't find stars that actually do look like that in-game, but this system doesn't have them.

It helps if you're 12 and male. Not an insult to the OP, because my inner 12yo boy chuckled.

Plus, the supermassive black hole is called boringly Sagittarius A*. This is just a medium sized one. It's like he has an inferiority complex or something. "Yeah? You're supermassive? So what! I'm the GREAT ANNIHILATOR! RAWR!"

*gets off the coffee*

This system looks cool but it won't replace our Sagittarius A Which is a Super massive black hole this is only a medium sized one. Sag A is about the size of our solar system. But this one is a cool one to visit and if i go to Sag A i will stop by here.

But the Great Annihilator has been known for over 2 years within the exploration community and is a known black hole in real life, is there anything i'm not aware of here?
