Not as far as I know, just work it from basics (system type, supply/demand levels) and so on. However, the trade simulation has changed dramatically with every release and this time, it looks it gone in the opposite direction to the old "Progenitor Cells HOOOOOOOOOOOO!" days with stations regularly running out of pretty much everything, including the items referenced in the System View. Since it has changed every release from Alpha, I assume this is by design to test things out.
